Our tour guide Leopold was the greatest. He made the whole experience so exciting and fun. We were never bored. Our tour guide was very accommodating in helping me in and out of the van since I have a physical Disability. . We got to hear the true story behind the Von-Trapp Family which really makes you appreciate the movie in a whole new way. We not only got to see locations from the movie we also got to see Salsburg's beautiful landscape and take fantastic pictures while also learning fascinating facts about Salzburg and its History. As well as giving us The opportunity as tourists to see parts of Salzburg We would never get to see otherwise. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the true beauty of Salzburg,... A big thank you to Panorama tours and Leo who helped make this such a memorable experience. you can be sure you will see us again.
Our tour guide, Eric was wonderful and went the extra-mile to ensure we had a good time. We felt the private tour was more intimate the the large tour and was worth the extra money. The guide was very knowledgeable and arrived early to make sure we got our money’s worth. I would take the tour again with Eric
We enjoyed this tour so much! It was just myself, husband and our guide. We were picked up in a new BMW sedan that was incredibly comfortable. Our tour guide, Peter, was so friendly and just a wealth of knowledge. This tour was relaxing and allowed ample time at each stop. We saw and learned so much more that we would have if we would have tried to navigate this ourselves. Worth every penny!
A Tour of a Lifetime! My Wife’s favorite movie is the sound of music and this tour met all her expectations and more!
We spent a lovely and nostalgic day with our guide, Eric. He was informative, charismatic and entertaining. Learned so many behind the scenes facts about the movie and historic facts about the Von Trap Family. A must see for movie lovers.
We really wanted to like this tour, but sadly did not. We had been told that the Sound of Music tour was a good experience. So, in the morning we booked a private walking tour of the old city and in the afternoon booked this Sound Of Music private tour. The morning tour was great, but the Sound of Music tour was a big disappointment. The Sound of Music tour had a few nice stops - but could have been ½ as long - there just wasn’t that much to see and we really didn’t feel like we learned anything that we couldn’t have just read in a good book. Nothing really made it feel especially exciting or interesting. Nothing really made us feel like we were having a fun or memorable experience. At the last stop, we were let off near the chuck from the wedding scene and told to go take a look around and then walk in the town for 30 minutes. Since the guide wasn’t going to be with us, I asked if there was anything special we should be sure to look at, and we were told “not really” - but that the church had beautiful art on the walls (which it did). But, walking around without a guide to help bring history to life wasn’t what we expected and wasn’t something we couldn’t have done on our own (we had a rental car - so we could have driven to the church and other sites if we wanted). We ended up deciding not to stay more than 5 minutes at the last stop and to return to the hotel early. We walked around Salzburg by ourselves with the 45 we saved. I would suggest skipping the is tour - there isn’t much to see and it isn’t the fun experience that we were wishing for.
Exceptional tour. Fantastic guide that was fun and knowledgeable. He picked us up and dropped us exactly where we needed to be. Driving was safe and comfortable.
Having been on the large bus tour several years ago, without question the private tour is so much more informative and enjoyable. Leopold was a phenomenal guide. So much information about the movie, the cast, and the actual von Trapp family. It is worth the extra money you pay for a private tour instead of the large group bus tour.
Great tour! Especially loved the stop at Mond See. Since we had private tour company was very flexible on organizing the stops etc. Gerard was very knowledgeable and gave us great info we didn’t know about the movie and filming of it.
From the beginning of the tour, our guide, Antonio, was simply superb. He was friendly, professional, kind, attentive and knew everything possible about the movie. He filled us with fun facts and we learned quite a bit. It was a magical day thanks to Antonio and Panorama!
