This was a fantastic trip overall. What a steal for the price. Pick up was on time. You meet Ibrahim at the drop off spot. His English is fantastic and he has a good energy about him. He's clearly been doing this for a while. I have to assume many of the jokes he's been telling for some time, but he's entertaining and knowledgable about both the falls and the area surrounding it. He explains a little info about the Berbers and takes you to a shop where you can buy argan oil, but there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything, which was nice. The monkeys were a nice unanticipated highlight of the trip. Ibrahim showed that it's pretty easy to get them to jump onto your back for a cool picture with the help of some peanuts. Ibrahim also shows you several good spots to take pics of the waterfall. You then climb down to it, and up the other side of it. At the waterfall you have the option of a 20 minute ride up close to the waterfall if you want, which everyone typically does (seriously it's only 20 MAD aka 2 USD, so why wouldn't you), and the raft operators offer to take your picture for you as well. Lunch was your typical 75-100 MAD (about 8-10 USD) meal that included a starter and a main dish. Fries were given for free as well. Tea was included. Overall a fantastic experience, and well worth the money.
We were told to be ready for collection from the hotel at 8 and the driver collected us at 8.15. It took 3 hours to get to the waterfalls and its a scenic journey all the way. When we arrived at the destination we were met by a local guide who was very knowledgeable. There was some walking to do to get to the waterfalls and overall its a 2.5hr visit. There's no need eat at the restaurant if you don't want to although thats where the tour guide takes you. There are plenty of other places to eat along that stretch of road. A long journey but it is worth it.
This was a very interesting trip. A long drive from marrakech but well worth it. We were met by a very knowledgeable guide who was very knowledgeable and friendly telling us lots of things about the falls. He ensured that we had time with the monkeys and enjoyed a lovely lunch. Highly recommend this tour.
Once we arrived at the Falls, the tour guide we had was excellent. We enjoyed our tiime there Hiwever, I wish I had known that the return trip was 6 hours, in a hot, uncomfortable mini van. There is no way I wouod have booked. Also, the itinerary states that food is not included in the cost of the tour. Fair enough. However, we were not really given the option for lunch....it was simply assumed that everyone would psrticipste. The mel was much larger than we like to have at luch, and the price, MAD 210 for two of us was extremely high. If here was s esy to do the 2 hour tour at the Falls, I'd say do it. But as we did it, coming in from Marrakech, I'd say don't!
The waterfalls are beautiful and it was lovely to see the monkeys in their natural environment though would’ve preferred to have had more time to spend photographing and watching the monkeys. The boat ride at the waterfalls was worth the 20dh. The bus journey to the waterfalls was 3hours long, and there was a 15 min stop at a cafe for toilets/ snacks on the way there and back. Toilets and various stalls were also available at the waterfall and the restaurant. The minibus was comfortable. The lunch at the restaurant wasn't great, options were limited to vegetarian/chicken/lamb tagine or chicken skewers and fries, though it did only cost 100dhs per person including water, fruit and an appetiser. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and came prepared with umbrellas for the group incase of rain. The trip ended with a visit to an Argan oil producer and an opportunity to buy some local produce.
It's a shame the mountains are a 3 hour drive from Marrakesh but we can't move them. The driver was prompt, picked us on on time and a little stop on the way got us there in good time. We met our guide Ibrahim who I must say was very good. He was very knowledgeable and funny with it too. Some of the other tour guide were getting impatient but Ibra put them in their place because there's no rush, everyone is there to enjoy the day. Ibra also told some of the locals to stop asking for money so he was very supportive in that sense too.
The tour involves are fair amount of steps so it requires some level of fitness but it's a slow pace and there's plenty of shade from the trees so it's fairly straightforward.
Within a few minutes of the start of the tour, there are photo opportunities of the waterfalls and the king's brothers' house. After making your way down the river level, there are refreshments at small stalls where for a small price you can have fresh pomegranate juice, lovely stuff. Once at the river, board the barge which takes you out to the waterfall. The guide will stop at the base of the waterfall for photos and a light shower. Fantastic views from the base of the waterfall to the sky. Once back on dry land, you get to feed the monkeys then the big monkeys get fed at the restaurant overlooking the valley and breathtaking views. Don't forget the camera for this one!
We thoroughly enjoyed this trip to Ouzoud. It was really great value and so well organised! On arriving we had a guide who took us for a 2.5 hour walk down to the falls and from the outset he was great! I think his name was Ibrahim. He was attentive, funny and knowledgeable. He made sure that we didn’t get ripped off by people when we met and fed the monkeys, he made sure we all got served lunch and he was just so helpful and thoughtful throughout the entire day. We found the scenery stunning and no trip to Marrakech is complete without doing this trip. Best of all, we were back in the main square by 6pm which was the perfect time to watch the sunset! All in all a brilliant day and great value. Book this trip!!
Picked up from the picked up point on time and was made aware of the travelling time from the start. It was around 3 hours with a break in between. When we got there, we were put into a group or around 40 people. This didn't bother us much and our tour guide Ibrahim (I think that's his name) made everyone felt involved from the start. We trek around and into berber house, Ibrahim was very informative, knowledgeable, funny, quick witted and even put up with some annoying kids asking silly questions. We had enough time to take photos. Didn't really felt rush even though we knew they have a schedule to work to. Make sure to take the boat trip at the bottom of the fall. Ibrahim was clear with the rules about the Monkeys so that we don't get ripped off by the local with their nuts and photos taking. Lunch at the end was 100 dirham each, remember that this is a tourist area so I wasn't too bother about that. Overall, great day out and big shout out to Ibrahim.
I enjoyed my day out to the falls very much despite the long journey but I do have a few comments. I was aware lunch wasn't included in the price but we were taken to a restaurant at the end of the tour and were told this is were lunch was and what choice we had, no mention of how much that restaurant would charge. I thought we would have 90-120 mins free time at the falls to do what we wanted, including lunch anywhere and could go swimming etc however we had a 20 min break for swimming if we wanted but it was in a small area away from the falls and wouldn't have been practical for the whole group if they had wanted to. However our guide was very good, knowledgeable and good sense of humour. The trip isn't really suitable for the very unfit as there is a lot of steps to climb.
Was picked up on time by Abdullah in a people carrier. The guide was great too, Ibraheem. Wear trainers as you will walk down to the base of the waterfall. Then you need to walk back up. See the wild monkeys.Take 100 Dirham minimum for lunch should you want to. Also stops at a service station. The drive us about 3 hours each way. My driver is awesome, on way back he went out of his way to drop me off at a supermarket instead of my initial pickup point. What's more, neither he nor Ibraheem asked for any money or tips. On top if that, our driver Abdullah offered to buy me tea at a service station out of politeness. I would recommend this specific tour.
