Know More about this tour
Day 1: Day 1
Stop At: Coyote Canyon Adventures, San Miguel de Allende, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast
You will enjoy a visit to the ranch and have a chance to enjoy milking and cheese-making. You will also enjoy a horseback riding excursion and have free time to explore the canyon. Aside from these activities, you will also get to go swimming, cattle-herding, enjoy roping lessons and have night and early morning rides.
This camping riding excursion includes all camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, folding chairs etc), campfire meals (complete with ice cold beers for the adults and marshmallows and hot dogs for the kids at night), night-riding, a long evening bonfire, and clear skies, permitting, fantastic stargazing.
The horseback trail riding excursions will give you enough time to take a midnight ride all the way to a neighboring village, where you can stock up on some essentials, or pick up a good tequila to help keep the stories flowing around the campfire.
For the more extreme riders, the riding tour includes a section where you can gallop or even race full speed through the darkness! Of course that part is optional and not recommended for the faint of heart, although it is actually very safe as horses have excellent night vision, and both the horses and your guides know by heart every twist and turn of the trails you ride on.
This is the best and most complete way to experience the canyon both by day and night.

Amazing trip, highly recommendable. Adventurous, challenging and breathtaking. We did the horseback tour with rappelling and sleeping in a camp with a group of friends. One of the highlight of our Mexico trip
-
Amazing experience and even more fun than expected. The views were spectacular and we trusted the horses completely. Never ridden on horseback before, but still galloped multiple times (if you wanted) and had a great time with my horse Carbonero. Definitely would recommend.
-
Amazing experience, landscape was incredible. It was impressive how the horses were able to manoeuvre themselves through the steep mountain areas. Horses were very well trained and listened well. People were nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

This family owned and operated experience was everything we could have hoped for. We were two women traveling together and I look forward to returning with my family for another adventure. Our host, Rodrigo started off our morning with a visit to a local family ranch home where we gathered fresh eggs for our breakfast, played with the farm animals and then had a tortilla making lesson before we sat down to a scrumptious breakfast overlooking a beautiful valley. After we got outfitted with our horses and off we went with our guide, June, and two Vaqueros, Nico & Antonio. We rode for several hours through beautiful mountain terrain and enjoyed a hearty lunch made by Nico & Antonio. We arrived at our campsite early evening and enjoyed a campfire and many laughs with our host June, followed by a wonderful dinner created by our Vaqueros. Our peaceful sleep with a star studded sky and waking to the whinny’ing of the horses was was priceless! Thanks for a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to see you all again!

The overnight horseback riding adventure was a true highlight of our trip to San Miguel. Riding in the canyon was like being in a movie, spotting wild cows, donkeys, and white horses along our trails. We crossed creeks and swam during our lunch break. The meals they cooked were delicious too! The campsite was beautiful, isolated, and you really felt connected to nature. Loved sitting by the campfire and stargazing after a long ride up and down the canyon. This is legit camping so don’t expect anything fancy. There were three opportunities to fully gallop (optional), and while it was a bit scary, it was fun! Neither my husband nor I had really ridden before but we felt safe and in very good hands with our vaqueros, Antonio and Nicolas. The horses were very well trained and beautiful creatures. If you aren’t very active (which I am not), your body may be in pain for the first day, but just get a relaxing massage when you get back into town. It’ll be worth it. We also had a fun visit to a farm where we milked a goat and made a delicious traditional Mexican breakfast. Daniel, Cristina, and Monique were great! They were responsive and flexible, even when we decided to switch days or booked a hot air balloon ride last minute. And we were lucky there were slots available for to rappel down a 150 ft cliff! Quite the thrilling adventure, but we also felt very safe in well-trained hands. If you’re looking to drink alcohol at the campsite or do a night ride, just let them know ahead of time to ensure they can plan for it. Great experience and would recommend!

Rodrigo and his company Coyote Canyon took us on a very special adventure for my batchelor party. I would absolutely recommend this company. We were picked up on time and the Canyon wasn’t more than 40 minutes away. 5 cowboys and their well behaved horses were waiting for us when we arrived. We were given a 10 minute overview on how to use the reins and we all felt comfortable after a few minutes of practice, none of us being horse riders. The horseback ride took us up a stream and into the depths of the canyons, we climbed to the top of one and watched a beautiful sunset. We rode back in the dark, the horse’s knew the way and it was incredibly peaceful. We ended the night with a bbq of steak and sausages. We slept in standard off the shelf tents, with a blanket laid on the bottom and in new sleeping bags. The tents were comfortable in size (4 person size tent for just 2 people).

Incredible Experience. It starts with a 20 minute drive to a ranch outside the city. There, we met our two guides, they took our baggage, and we immediately were introduced to our horses and began the ride! We rode for a few hours, then stopped on top of a mountain for a rest in the shade and some snacks. Then, another hour of riding to a beautiful creek, where our guides made some lunch for us - and we took a dip in the creek! Then, another chunk of riding to the top of another mountain, where our gear and baggage was waiting for us. We set up our tents, enjoyed dinner, and sat around the fire until drifting off to sleep. The next morning we rode the horses back to the ranch and were picked up, and dropped off back in the city. Incredible experience!

Pase la tarde con mi novia, nos gusto mucho ver el atardecer y recorrer San Miguel de Allende a caballo. Lo recomiendo totalmente. Muchas gracias!

Monique and the cowboys were incredible on our trip. The scenery, the food, the ride, all are breath taking. Always felt safe on the trails with the horses and comfortable at camp. Dont miss the chance to do experience something outside the box.

We recently went on the overnight camping trip/horseback ride. My boyfriend and I, were a little nervous, as we had no horseback riding experience, but our guide, Lino, gave us a quick lesson before we went off. The horses were gentle and very well trained. We spent about 4 hours on horseback, going up and down the canyon and crossing the river/creek. There were breaks built in for rest, picture-taking and lunch. At night, we camped at the top of the canyon among the cows and horses. We woke up to breakfast and rode back to the ranch to finish up the trip. It was the highlight of our trip to San Miguel and we can't wait to go horseback riding again!
