Overview

Join this Small group half day guided tour any day of the week and learn more about the life of Pablo Escobar, his impact on the community, and the new version of a very resilient and improved Medellin. Visiting places where Pablo lived while narrating stories about the past and present of this beautiful city that was hurt in so many ways by the drug cartels, also includes transport by air-conditioned minivan.

Departure every day at 9 AM from central location in El Poblado, perhaps you are lucky this date and will have a tour guided by Carlos the cop.

This tour will provide a great learning experience as to what should NOT happen in society and which characters should be the real heroes.

Tour focuses on the victims by telling stories of those who suffer most, like police officers and government officials. Since there is no glorification, at the end you will understand how resilient the people from Medellin have been.

Luis was a fantastic guide! He shared information with us the entire way, constantly checked in to make sure we were doing okay, and made sure we saw everything we wanted to. We visited La Catedral, Escobar’s grave, and Comuna 13. At each stop Luis made sure we got the pictures we wanted and we never felt rushed. He also speaks excellent English and translated for us when needed. Highly recommend!!!

Luis treated me like family and he took great care of me throughout the tour. He is very cordial and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him a as a guide. The tour itself was fantastic, the catedral visit was the highlight of my trip.

Our guide Fabio was very knowledgeable, engaging & accommodating; this tour packs a lot of activities. I didn’t like how everyone is trying to make a buck / hawk their goods off association with Escobar / or his image, but other than that, very educational & impressive.

Amazing day! Our terrific bilingual guide, Albert Gomez, took us all through the incredible artistically-done graffiti-ed barrio in Comuna 13, explaining about the history, the artists, and introducing us to a tipico tinto coffee and micheladas, a delicious cerveza & tropical fruit cocktail . The C13 is not to be missed! An entire community piled up a steep mountain with electric escalators alongside the winding steps-just incredible! We then learned about the Medellin cartel drug lord Pablo Escobar, visiting the village he grew up in, the bombed out home he lived in (which is now a somber memorial to all of those he killed), and then onto the secluded cathedral in the mountains where he was imprisoned, yet able to see the entire happenings of his city, still maintaining control. We lastly visited his gravesite where many other cartel members have also been buried. We learned so much! It was a lot of driving but we saw from one end of Medellin to the other. Later we enjoyed a tipico Colombian meal in a restaurant he’d suggested.

David, our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable about Medellín, Comuna 13 and Pablo Escobar. The places that were significant to Pablo Escobar's life were all scattered out, so I would definite ask what's most interesting to see and then spend more time in Comuna 13, which was amazing. We were supposed to meet at the Lleras park, but David was really nice to offer to pick us up at our hotel! We had chosen a small group tour, so it was very personable and catered to our interests. Thank you, David, for showing us the beauty of Medellin.

Luis is an amazing tour guide. He communicated really well in english and gave us thorough information about the city and the area. We had a request to finish the tour faster as we had to get to the airport for the return flight. He obliged and was very courteous. Highly recommend the tour.
