Know More about this tour

Let us transport you back to the Golden Age of France with an entire day to discover the Palace of Versailles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it's gardens and the Trianons which includes Marie Antoinette's private Hamlet.

You will be guaranteed fast-track entry, allowing you to jump the queue and travel in comfort on one of our fully air-conditioned coaches. You will marvel at the breathtaking royal chateau, transformed by the ‘Sun King’ Louis XIV in the 1660s from a hunting lodge. Playground of the French monarchs, Versailles was the centre of royal and political power until the French Revolution in 1789 which saw Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette forced to return to the capital.

Your audio guide will enable you to discover the State apartments of the King and Queen, the Royal Chapel and Hall of Mirrors, the epitome of French opulence: three hundred and fifty-seven mirrors line the gold-adorned hall and crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling.

You will also have free time to explore the famous gardens à la française ; a 2,000 acre park designed by André le Notre with its magnificent groves, statues, and fountains. The grounds of Versailles boast two smaller, but equally beautiful palaces which are also well worth a visit.
The Grand Trianon was built for King Louis XIV to enjoy with his mistres Madame de Montespan and later by Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Marie-Louise. The elegant, single-storey palace with pink marble radiates cosiness, sweetness and grandeur all at once.

The Petit Trianon, a small chateau in the grounds of Versailles used by Marie Antoinette for festivities and to escape the overwhelming court etiquette. You will also discover the Queen’s Hamlet, a stylised Norman village and farm built for Marie Antoinette where she retreated with her closest friends to enjoy an intimately rustic life. Completed just a few years before the Revolution, the Hamlet remains a testiment to the Queen’s desire for a simpler life over the cold marble vaults of the main palace.

  • Our tour guide was great, she got us on the bus and on our way to Versailles without any problems. She passed out audio tour headsets and sent us on our way.

This is the full day tour with access to the Hamlet. The Grand and Petit Trianon are very cool to see, as was the Hamlet. Be prepared to WALK A TON! I clocked 18,000 steps at the end of our day. We passed on the opportunity to rent golf carts to take to the Trianons and Hamlet and after being exhausted at the end of the tour, we should have considered it.

The bus was to pick us up at 4:45pm to take us back to Paris, but we were frozen and wet we traveled in early November and wanted to go home immediately. We ended up taking an Uber back to Paris.

I'm not sure a full day is necessary. If we would have moved a little quicker and didn't stop for coffee and lunch, if we also rented a golf cart, we could have seen everything in half a day.

  • Really enjoyed our day at Versailles! The audio guided tour was great because we could go at our own pace. We took the full day option, and were so glad we did, as there is so much to see! Since we were there in the middle of winter, the fountains were all frozen and the landscape was bleak, but still amazingly beautiful! The walk to the Queen's Hamlet and the Trianons was quite far, but worth it. We were blessed with an extra bonus- it snowed on us most of the time we were outside! The snowfall added an extra touch of beauty to the palace grounds and made the day even more special!

  • The Palace of Versailles is an outstanding day trip from Paris! Be sure to allow 5 hrs to tour the complete complex.

  • We took the full day tour but left with the half day tour as we felt it was too long but still worthwhile.

  • The best tour thank you so much for making my trip to Paris Kevin was a wonderful tour host no line and I learned a bit of history the bus was clean, and driver knew were he was going and our tour was great I will tell all my friends ask for Kevin !

  • Audio guided was not a good way to do this. I loved that we had some of the time on our own but I wish we had a little bit more guided. Rent the cart to see the grounds, much easier.
