  • An absolute amazing experience! I would recommend this experience to everyone.

  • The tour was ok, We were picked up from our hotel right on time and they take us to the Vatican. But that’s it. The tour guide only lead us to the room where the Pappal audience was. No explanation or suggestions about where to seat or the best spot to see the Pope more closely.

  • Amazing experience. Get there early ad grab a seat closest to the center aisle!

  • This tour included a hotel pickup IF you were staying at a central Rome hotel. The Hotel Napoleon was our hotel they considered themselves centrally located but we weren't able to get a pickup because I called too late. We arrived Rome 10/16, our Papal Audience tour was for Wed, 10/18. I wasn't able to call until the late afternoon of 10/17. So we hopped into a taxi at 6:30am to be dropped off at the tour's office. That's where some confusion lay. From the office, we all about 40-60 people were escorted down to a bus pickup point. We had to ask several times Which bus? One guide said to follow him, so we did, only to find out that the bus was for Spanish-speaking only folks. Then another guide said the English-speaking bus had not arrived yet. After we finally got the correct bus, the bus tour guide, I believe his name was Roberto, gave us an excellent commentary while driving to the Vatican. Excellent speaker, and always made sure the group was together from start to finish. We were given coupons for free water/gelato for after the Papal Audience. I would say by the time we got to the Vatican, most of the seats by the barricades were taken. Roberto gave directions as to where to sit my wife and I were lucky enough to score two chairs near the barricade, which was great, because the PopeMobile passed within 5 feet of us and we were lucky enough to see Pope Francis' smiling face up front! THAT made the fast-paced walk from the but to the Vatican worthwhile. Those of you who have had walking guided tours know that guides do not shuffle. They are speedwalkers! My wife has a walking disability so we were always one of the last in the group, but our guide stopped occasionally to insure we were still with the group. This tour was a one-way bus trip to St Peter's Square. And since Rome has a heavy presence of Italian Army at numerous checkpoints on major thoroughfares, getting around was a bit slow. But it all worked out for us. I'd recommend the tour. Gave only 4 stars because we never got the free bus pickup at our 4-star hotel. So if you do purchase this tour, call immediately to see if your hotel is in their perimeter of pickups.

  • Great job in getting us to our seating area. Amazing experience! Worth the relatively small cost to get escorted to the proper gates, through security and to the seating area.

  • Highly recommended to get a tour for this as it is completely hassle free. Or else you would have to pick up the tickets yourself and make your way to a packed St. Peter's Square. This tour guaranteed us a seat at the audience. However, our tour guide wasn't very coordinated in telling us where to wait or sit once we made it past security.

  • This tour was worth doing as the guide brings you to the square from where you choose your own seats, and you don't have to wait for the tickets. The free pick up is not organised for B and B guests so we needed to find our own way to the meeting point and wait a while on the bus for everyone else.

  • We was staying 2 blocks from the Vatican and they picked us up and took us far away to change busses and then gave us our tickets, dropped us off to stand in a long line to get in and then told us to go sit down anywhere. I could have done that!!!!! The tickets are free anyhow. I thought they had a certain area to seat us to see the Pope better. If I would have known this I would have done it myself.
I even emailed them to see if we could just meet them there but they wouldn't do it. Bad tour!!!!

  • This tour was not the greatest - in fact, while it was a thrill to see the Pope, I would not recommend this tour to anyone. You can get free tickets online to see the Pope if you book ahead of time. Viator should offer these tickets for a price. The transportation was horrible to this event - I tried calling numerous times the day before but no one picked up the phone. They came for us at 7 am, which is super early and then took us to another bus where we waited for other groups to fill the bus. Once at the bus, they took us to Castle St. Angelo where we had to walk to the Vatican. Some of the older folks and one woman couldn't make the walk. In retrospect, I could have spent 10 Euro to get a cab and walk a block in. They took us up to the metal detectors and left us to find seats on our own. Because they picked us up so early, we had to sit in the hot sun for over 2 hours waiting for the Pope. Seeing him up close was great and getting the blessing very special but I wouldn't recommend this particular tour.

  • We arrived early enough and got seats which was very nice. However the guide could have informed us of preferred places to sit as there were a many free seats : sit closer to the railings as Pope is driven around the square!. I was also surprised that we were not brought back to our hotels/tour office. Fortunately it was east to find cabs. However, it was an awe-some experience. DK Singapore
