Know More about this tour

After meeting your private guide, begin your walking tour to discover Paris' most important Art Nouveau landmarks and learn about the history of the Belle Epoque.

The most prominent architectural style at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th, Art Nouveau is known for its elegance and innovation. Embraced by the wealthy of the time, it symbolizes the opulence and refined beauty of Paris in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Your tour begins at the very roots of the Art Nouveau movement before continuing to the mature period as you learn about its various inspirations and the surprising influences it had on later periods. Visit the Gothic Revivalist Hotel Gaillard, and admire the decorative entrance of a Metro station. Take a peek at the Russian Orthodox Church of St. Alexander, and marvel at the Art Nouveau faade of the Ceramic Hotel near the Arc de triomphe. You'll also check out a flamboyant house by architect Jules Lavirotte on Avenue Rapp, see the imposing American Cathedral of the holy trinity, and catch a glimpse of the iconic Eiffel tower.

Absolutely fabulous tour. Mila, our glide was very knowledgeable and engaging. I would seek her out for future tours.

It was such a memorable and valuable time! Art nouveau buildings were so beautiful in Paris and our guide Boris was knowledgeable and passionate. I am glad that I chose this tour.=)

Our tour guide, Andrea (?), provided us with an outstanding introduction to Paris and French Architecture, with a focus on Art Nouveau (and a hint of Art Deco). We learned more than we could have even imagined, and Andrea proved that she “really knew her stuff”. She was a delight! We will definitely work with her again when we return to Paris or Normandy,

The private tour for our group of four was fantastic because of our guide Boris! Ive always been an admirer of Art Nouveau art, furniture and architecture so this was a treat. Great lessons in history and architecture from Boris who did a wonderful job of explaining and comparing different styles of architecture: classical, Gothic, Art Nouveau , and how each of them evolved and what inspired their development. Boris was very engaging, knowledgeable, polite and open to all our questions. We enjoyed this tour and Boris communication style so much that we booked him for another tour the next day for a private tour of Notre Dame. Because the tour involved quite a bit of walking our mothers both in their 70s started to get tired and I told Boris we might have to end the tour early. He was so gracious and he worked in a stop for us at LaDuree on the Champs Elysees to enjoy some coffee, tea and macarons and rest for a short while. After that, the moms were able to continue onward and finish the tour. Boris even helped us secure a taxi at the end of the tour! Highly recommend! Thanks Boris for helping to make our first visit to Paris special with both of the tours you guided for us!
