I expected more from this tour. View from tower lovely but crowded, too short amount of time. Says skip the line? Still spent more time waiting than being on the tower, had to rush down to catch the tour bus and no time to shop or eat or use toilets. Tour guide? You mean usher? Gave no information whatsoever. The River cruise delightful but crowded too. And if there was an audio tour I got no information to know what we were seeing. Summit option? No time and was unavailable.

The extreme amount of time we had to wait for each segment. We misread the Eiffel Tower trip (our fault) and waited for 30 + minutes on the 2cd level to advance to the summit and found we had the wrong ticket. We finished what was supposed to be an hour tour in about 2 1/2 hours to find we could not get on the bus as it was too busy so we took the boat tour (quite good) and then caught the bus tour (3 hours late) quite good as well. Coordination and overall attention to the schedule was absent.

Eliminating the lines was great The bus wasn’t very big or comfortable & because of rain, the open air top wasn’t an option. We’re waiting on the boat cruise for better weather

The staff were nice enough, but the “tour” aspect was a waste of money. You basically show up at the meeting point where they give you tickets to the tower and cruise. They took us to the tower and then left us on our own. You can definitely buy the tickets you need for the Eiffel Tower, river cruise, and bus pass directly for much cheaper than this “tour,” and I believe the audio app is free to the public. Don’t waste your money!

There was really no purpose to this tour. First skipped line to get into Eiffel Tower - but no line, and no tour Guide. Then went into Bus with i pad with very little information. The boat was nice but generally waste of money

  • 24-May-2022

It was terrible. The boat ride was ok. Couldn’t go to the top of Eiffel tower. The histogram was useless. Was not in sync and could not hear it. The guides did nothing to help. Did not wait for people stuck in security lines.

Our tour was scheduled for 10:30. We came to Sidney place at 10:20. There was a guy standing there. Later he turned out to be a guide. At 10:30 he said we are waiting for 2 people. Another couple joined us in a few minutes but we were still waiting for someone else. The guide gave us tickets to Eiffel Tower and river tour and told us that Buss will be waiting for us at Sydney place at 3pm and we should be here 10 minutes prior. So as you can see it is not a real tour it is a collection of tickets that we could get cheaper from separate operators on our own time. This way it only adds stress. Same “tour guide” told us that river boats leave every hour and left us in line to Eiffel Tower. We took our time at the tower and got to the boat around 12:30 to find out that next boat will depart at 2pm. Boat cruise take about an hour, which means that we will be late to the Buss tour. We called the operator asking to hold off the bus till 3:15. Needless to say Buss didn’t wait for us. We called Operator and they gave us a voucher for BigBus tour. At which point we had to walk to BigBusTours location and wait for the bus for about 40 minutes. Needless to say our evening plans were canceled. Don’t waist money on this. Book all three separately!!!!

I'd taken a Gray Line day tour from London to Paris and back on the Eurostar back in 2005. It was WONDERFUL! The tour guide was great, friendly and as any tour guide should be, very knowledgeable. When I visited Paris back in July of 2021, I decided to use them again. I booked two tours with them. One was the Skip-the-line Eiffel Tower, Guided City Tour & Seine River Cruise. The other, a Guided Full Day Tour of Versailles. On the morning of the Eiffel Tower tour, my daughter and I head to 2 Rue des Pyramides where our confirmation/receipt says our tour group is to assemble. That's where their office was in 2005 so I didn't give it a second thought. We get there, tell the woman in the office that we're there for the Eiffel Tower tour, show her our receipt and she tells us that the tour group is actually meeting near the Eiffel Tower. WHAT!? She writes on my confirmation the address where we are to go, calls the tour guide and asks him to wait for us and tells us how to get there by bus. Not being familiar enough with Paris to take the bus and wanting to get to the tour group ASAP, we hop in a cab. When we meet the tour guide, I ask why the receipt says 2 Rue des Pyramides. It's explained to me that they've just reopened after the shut down and that they have to update the information in their website. I did notice others showing up after us so Gray Line had inconvenienced a few folks, huh? There were two people with Gray Line there; a lady and a man. The lady greets us and directs us to the man who is verifying and collecting confirmations. I gave him the one for me and my daughter. He places it with a small pile of other papers. My daughter mentions to me that the other people on the tour have orange stickers with "Paris City Vision." I asked the lady why the others have stickers and we do not. She says to me, "that's only for people who have the full tour." I go back to the man and ask for my confirmation. He digs amongst the other papers for a minute, finds it and gives it to me. I then took a photo so if they tried to tell me that I had anything other than wtf I paid for, I could quickly pull it up on my phone. I showed my confirmation to the lady and she gives us the stickers. *side eye* Then we all head to the Eiffel Tower. That was great. We were given an ample amount of time to wander around on our own. Next, it was time to meet for the guided city tour. The group was small and so was the bus....or what I expected to be a bus. The group was small so why use a massive tour bus. That part, I got. So, it wasn't a bus but a tour van. Cool. Back in 2005, we had a nice, big bus with massive windows (great for taking unobstructed photos) and a live tour guide. For this tour, we had a driver and were given electronic devices with wired earbuds. As you go past the tour sites and monuments, the recording gives you a brief history. The recording seemed to be a few seconds off. Most of the time, we'd have passed the site when the recording began talking about it, lol! I actually started laughing at one point because it was so ridiculous. Now, it's time for the final leg of the tour. The Seine River Cruise. The Cruise, like the Eiffel Tower experience, was great. No complaints there. Couple of days later, it's time for the Versailles tour that I'd booked through them. I almost wanted to cancel after being sent to the wrong address for the Eiffel Tower tour but being so close to the date, I would not have gotten a refund. After that whole wrong address thing, I'd mentioned to the Gray Line lady that I'd booked another tour with them and that, too, says that we're to meet at 2 Rue des Pyramides. She tells me, no, we're meeting at the Pullman Hotel near the Eiffel Tower. Glad I asked. *eye roll* We meet in front of the hotel. There are two new tour guides; male & female. We get on the bus and the man explains that some of us have the full day Versailles tour and some have the half day which ends at noon. Devices were provided where you could press a number and it'll give you a brief, pre-recorded history of the room that you're in within the Chateau de Versailles. The people with the shorter tour will receive the smaller devices and are to meet back at the bus at noon. The full day tour folks will receive larger devices and are to return to the bus at 6pm. The lady then gives us our listening devices. My daughter and I were given the smaller of the two. I asked her about what was said about the those of us on the full day tour getting the larger devices. She tells me - not *asks* me - but TELLS me matter of factly, "you have the half day tour. You are to be back at the bus at noon." I pulled up my receipt (had my email confirmation ready after the Eiffel Tower debacle) and corrected her. She then tells me that it's okay that we have the smaller one. I assumed that the smaller device would have a smaller battery and might not get us through the full tour. Fortunately, it wasn't an issue. Once we exit the bus at the Palace, the male tour guide tells us that we need to remember where the bus is parked and even suggests that we take photos of it so we know which bus to return to. Our tickets were for 9:30am. We're directed to the line for the 9:30am entrance. We noticed that the lady tour guide goes with a few others to another entrance. Once we're inside, we're roaming around on our own, which was great. We could spend as much time as we want in each room. A couple of times, we ran into the group that stayed with the tour guide. After touring the rooms, we had lunch at Restaurant Angelina. The croque monsieur is AMAZING! After, we ventured outside to explore the gardens. Oh, but first, the gift shop! Lovely items! I regret not buying that pink Marie Antoinette soap. Smelled heavenly! Anywho, we still had hours left before returning to Paris so spend a couple of hours exploring city away the Chateau. Lots of great stores and flea markets. Circa 5:30pm, we return to where we are to meet the bus back to Paris. it's nowhere to be seen so we sit and wait. A few minutes after 6pm, the male tour guide runs up to us and tells us that he forgot to tell us that we'd have a different bus returning to Paris!!!!!!!!!!!!! The "bus" that we end up returning to Paris in was a grey van. We get on and he's off to find the others whom he forgot to tell about the "different bus." We did have a great time at Versailles and we did get back to Paris safely so...all's well that ends well, right? But I'll never book with them again because we had issues not once, but twice, with two different tours. Even today (September 26th, 2021), two months after they told me that they have to update their meetup information in the computer, IT STILL SAYS 2 Rue des Pyramides is the departure location! I booked my tours under Gray Line. The orange stickers they gave us said, "Paris City Vision." Please pick one and keep the info up to date.

Ashford to Paris on Eurostar two hours,Metro to the Louvre about twenty minutes, nine euros for a day ticket, make sure you pre-book a Louvre time slot, and you get in the right line, go off season to avoid ridiculous queues. Then a walk along Seine forty minutes to the Eiffel Tower ,again pre-book time slot to go up, find river cruises along the Seine across the road from the tower, all done in a day ☺
