Overview
Hone your cooking skills in Paris with a 3-hour dessert-making class. Hosted by a professional chef in a private apartment, this cooking class will teach you to make two or three desserts, some of which are typically French and others that are more global. Its the perfect experience if you have a penchant for all things sweet!
Numbers are limited to eight people in this small-group class, ensuring youll enjoy a more intimate cooking experience.
Itinerary:
Over the course of three hours your chef will welcome you into their home and you'll work together to create two or three different desserts (selection varies based on the season, what's available, etc). You'll learn the techniques popular in the French baking world, and how to adapt them to your own kitchen once back home; and your chef will be able to send you the recipes of what you prepare after the class! Discover some tasty French savoir-faire during this fun-filled afternoon in Paris. In case of delay of more than 20 minutes, access to the class will be refused and no refund will be granted.

The class requires a minimum of two people total. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements or too many passengers in one booking that would overbook the class. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this class. For the price we paid ($350 for 2), I don’t think it was worth it. We were taught how to make 3 pastries, but we mostly watched. Frederic was an engaging host, but when we arrived there were no introductions or refreshments. We had to ask for water. Overall we ate some delicious dessert, but bring your own bottle of champagne if you want anything to drink!

We enjoyed the intimacy of a real Parisienne apartment and learned some awesome new recipes for novices like us!

I didn’t learn anything and didn’t love the recipes. It was just to follow a recipe and not to learn anything

The desserts were excellent and easy to make. Our chef was personable and professional, but she missed a bit on being a hostess. The apartment / kitchen was hot (but hey, it's Paris in the summertime, so I'm over that. Well, a better fan would have been nice.) And a bottle of water would have been good too. We did get to eat what we made, but there was no offer of coffee or drink other than water. Wine would have been nice. After all, it's PARIS !!

Fred chef's lemon tarts and easy to make chocolate lava cakes were a real treat. He manages to blend flavours and textures all at the same time. And learning how to combine crunch and taste with a balance that is nuanced would be what the cook books cant capture.Also we had a wonderful time chatting about food and other countries in a very lovely home kitchen.

Chef Marthe is just amazing making this a memorable part of the trip to Paris. Very easy to learn and the end result is just delicious.
