Overview

Discover traditional French cuisine and prepare your own 3-course lunch on this 4.5- or 6-hour cooking class in Paris. Begin with a visit to a Food market in Paris Latin quarter (6-hour class only) and select your ingredients. Then, plan your menu and cook your meal with guidance from a professional instructor. Learn tips and tricks to improve your cooking before sitting down to enjoy your meal. Sample winefrom across France, and enjoy personal attention from the instructor on this small-group tour, limited to 11 people.

Itinerary:

Meet your instructor at a cookery school in central Paris (59 Rue du Cardinal Lemoine) to begin your class. If you've opted for the 6-hour class, start with a croissant and a cup of coffee or tea before heading to an open-air food market near Paris' Latin Quarter, where you'll pick up the ingredients for your meal and taste some cheese with your instructor. If you've selected the 4.5-hour class, make your way to the cookery school after your instructor has returned from the market. Begin by planning your 3-course lunch menu, which includes an appetizer, main, and dessert course. Then, get started under the watchful eye of your instructor. As you prepare your meal, pick up tips and gain insight into traditional French cooking techniques. After two hours in the kitchen (and a glass of wine or two), head through to the dining table with your fellow cooks. Sit down to the delicious meal you’ve prepared and enjoy half a bottle of white or red wine. You'll also learn the fine art of pairing food with wine. Before leaving, you'll receive electronic copies of your recipes so you can recreate the dishes at home.

The market was amazing. I learned so much from the chef. The lunch was delicious. Totally worth the time and money!

What a wonderful experience. Luc, our chef was the BEST!! We opted for the market visit first. So interesting. And fun!! A great option I would recommend. We had so much fun preparing our meal and Luc did a great job of keeping the group engaged! Highly recommend!!you will not be disappointed!!!

Fred himself was the highlight. He became something akin to the conductor of an orchestra where the 'musicians' (cooks, in this case) ranged widely in experience yet the resulting 'music' (meal) was very good. Charming, good listener, excellent English, a magician in the kitchen and able to make all - no matter their level of skill in the culinary art - feel welcome. Any mistakes, of which I made my share, were managed adroitly. Teaching moments were always allowed to become conversations. We had 3 'groups' in our class (family, couple, single) and it worked out very well. Would recommend this to anyone.

We had a fun time making lunch with Sara. We had a nice walk to the market and picked up some fruits and vegetables we were to use in our cooking. We had a pleasant lesson on cheese types. We enjoyed a brief historical walk on our way back to the kitchen. Everything was well organized involving all 8 burgeoning chefs/diners. We.had a really nice experience and Sara was really.great.

This was my first experience with a cooking class, and not only was it fun and fabulous, but it was the favorite activity of my Paris stay! Chef Sarah was fun and informative. From our market shopping tour to the cooking instructions and directives to the group, Sarah did a stellar job. She cultivated such an enjoyable communal learning experience for the whole group. I cannot wait to do this again sometime!

This cooking class was one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. Sarah was EXCEPTIONAL!!! She was so upbeat and such a great instructor. She treated our 14 year old granddaughter with such kindness and managed to spend time with everyone in the class. It’s very obvious how passionate Sarah is about her work. The food…the wine…EVERYTHING was perfect!! We would absolutely enjoy this experience again!!

My wife arranged a cooking class in Paris for me, a bucket list item for me. We elected for the 3 course meal and open market experience. Chef Fred was amazing, informative, friendly and open to share his pearls both at the market and in the kitchen. The kitchen experience was first class, the class had 10 students (a bit big for me), but the people were warm and friendly and Chef Fred made sure you got a great hands on experience. Chef shared techniques and recipes, he was friendly and willing to lend a helping hand if needed. The food was wonderful, Salmon in a Beurre Blanc and the Cauliflower soup were my favorites. Thank you Chef Fred for a great experience. My wife and I highly recommend Le Foodist. john and Sue L.

Sarah was amazing throughout all the experiences. From the trip to the market to how to properly cut the florets from a head of cauliflower to delicious home made ice cream she is a master. I would do another class with her tomorrow.
