Know More about this tour

Your day starts at the base of Montmartre, a Parisian neighborhood perched on a hill, where you’ll meet your guide and small group of no more than 15 people. Paris is a city with a lot of history and even more attractions, so in order to see the best of it in one day, it helps to do so with an expert guide who takes care of logistics and tells you the story of the city as you go, including its characters, facts, myths, and lore, creating a memorable experience.

First up, take the funicular to Sacré-Coeur Basilica. After admiring stunning views of the city, your guide leads you through the winding streets of Montmartre, stopping off at the neighborhood vineyard, the artist hangout Place du Tertre, and a reconstructed windmill, much like those made famous by the cabaret club (and movie) Moulin Rouge.

Next, catch the Metro — Paris’ best mode of transport — for a short trip to Ile de la Cité, Paris’ oldest district. As you explore the narrow streets of the island and step inside world-famous Notre Dame Cathedral, you’ll learn how Paris grew from a Roman outpost into the crown jewel of Europe.

From Ile de la Cité, it’s a short walk to the Louvre, where you have a 1-hour lunch break (own expense; recommendations will be provided by your guide) before diving into the largest art museum in the world to see some of its most spellbinding works of art. The highlight is, of course, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Your guide helps you understand why the painting is so significant and how, after all these years, it has managed to maintain its reputation as one of the world’s greatest works of art.

After another short subway ride, find yourself staring up at the Eiffel Tower from the best vantage point at Place du Trocadéro, learning the incredible story of how the tower was built. When you get to the base, you’ll skip the line and climb directly to the second level for more great views of Paris.

Your guide leaves you at the tower, but as a parting a gift, gives you a ticket for a 1-hour Seine River cruise that you can use immediately (recommended as it will almost be sunset) or save for the next day. Cruising from west to east and back again, the boat tour passes such monuments as the Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre, and Notre Dame, allowing you to enjoy a different perspective on sites you saw earlier, plus many beautiful bridges including Pont Neuf (audio included if you wish).

And that’s it! In just one day, you’ll have seen Paris by foot and water, skipping its longest lines to see its most popular attractions, plus a few local favorites along the way.

  • Very tiring day but excellent tour guide Josephine did a wonderful job. Highly recommend this tour.

  • Exceptional tour! Our tour guide, Liliya was amazing! She knew the history of each landmark we visited and made each place come alive. It is a walking tour, but with breaks for coffee and snack so it is not difficult. There is no better way to see Paris if you only have a few days. You learn how to navigate the city and can go back to other places and explore more thoroughly on your own. The river boat tour is an added bonus. We took it at sunset and it was one of the most magical experiences of Paris!

  • Nice tour of the city. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Paris.

  • We did this tour on 22 July. Our guide, Tina, had an amazing knowledge of every related subject. There is a lot packed into one day, so much more than we could have seen on our own. Lots and lots of walking all up about 10 kms, but the pace was relatively comfortable, even for this unfit 56 year old :. It is a costly tour, but we had a truly amazing day in Paris and we felt it was worth every cent!

  • This is a brilliant way to see the sights of Paris if you only have one day. our guide was beyond amazing - personable, friendly and highly informed.plus brilliant in shepherding our little flock of 14 around the .streets and subway system. Be aware that there is a lot of walking involved in this tour so it will not suit everyone but there are places to rest along the way and the excellence of tour highlights like the Montmartre and the ascent of the Eiffel Tower make it all worthwhile. This one is what all walking tours should be I give it my highest rating.

  • This tour was amazing! Our guide, Adam was incredibly knowledgeable, efficient and very entertaining. It was a very long day with LOTS of walking but it really was the perfect way to see the highlights of Paris and it would have been impossible to try to do it without a guide. Highly recommended!

  • Very organised and systematic organisation. The Visit to Notre Dame is amazing!!

  • Felix was fantastic. Had a ton of knowledge, kept the group moving but also could tell when the group was needing a break as it was pretty hot that day. A great way to see the big 4 in Paris in one day.

  • Our family traveled to Rome, Florence, Venice and Paris, and we had a tour in each destination plus one in Pisa and Pompeii. Without question, each member of my family agreed that this Paris tour, in particular our tour guide Violet, was our favorite. Frankly, we were all concerned that the Paris tour would be problematic, given its scope and length the thought of 10 hours was intimidating. However, Violet ensured the tour was well-organized, relaxed, incredibly informative and always fun. We did not ever feel rushed or pushed. Violet understood that this was our vacation and treated the tour accordingly. We were able to easily see the 4 icons of Paris Sacre Cour, Notre Dame, the Louve and Eiffel Tower, and much of what was in between, all with the knowledge, insight and humor of an informed insider. Then, we ended the trip with a 1 hour Seine river cruise. I rarely post reviews, but my family insisted that I do so here, because this was our favorite tour and favorite tour guide, by far.

  • Our tour guide, Violet, was a wealth of information and ensured that we saw every location noted. If you only have a couple of days, this is the tour for you. At every location, you have a fast pass, which made things so much easier. If you have more time, I would recommend an entire day at the Louvre. Something that was a bit troubling was her elitist attitude towards the gypsies. I guess every nation has a scapegoat group. Sad.
