Know More about this tour

This tour offers a wide variety of stops that will delight and amaze you and takes you to places off the beaten path! Enjoy great conversation along the way to the first stop, the SS Atlantic Heritage Park, a place that is skipped over by other tour companies. Many do not realize that the sinking of this vessel in April 1873 was the worst single-vessel marine disaster to occur prior to the Titanic. You will have time to visit the interpretation centre to learn about the sinking and see artifacts from the ship and then walk out to the memorial and enjoy the peacefulness and picturesque scenery of the bay.

Then it's onto Peggy's Cove, passing scenic fishing villages and gorgeous shorelines along the way. Once at Peggy's Cove, you'll be able to have time to browse the various gift shops and capture the waves as they crash on the rocks in front of the world's most photographed lighthouse. Just a short drive away from Peggy's Cove, is the Swiss Air Memorial, a beautifully designed memorial for the 229 victims of the Swiss Air Flight 111 in 1998. Big tour companies can't stop here because of the small parking lot so you'll be able to enjoy this stop free from the crowds.

Included in the tour is a tasty lunch at The Finer Diner, overlooking beautiful Hacketts Cove.Savour one of their delicious Lobster Rolls (other sandwiches are available if you're not a lobster lover) before heading back to Halifax.

Once back in the city, you'll visit the Titanic Gravesite to learn about the disaster and the stories behind those lost in the sinking. Then you'll see another great sight that the larger tour buses cannot access - the Hydrostone neighbourhood! This area was built after the Halifax Explosion of 1917 and you'll learn just how disastrous this was to the city. It's another part of history that is overlooked by many!

The tour concludes with drop off at your accommodations.

  • The Viator tour of Peggy's Cove and Halifax Tour was really great! Our tour guide was wonderful telling us a lot of history and she was really sweet. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who will be in the Halifax area!

  • Way too crowded.

  • We were picked up in a van, then packed to 10 people (max tour per Viator was 8) the tour was Peggys Cove with a stop at the Titanic Graves in Halifax, then ended in a neighborhood park to look at a house that is built of block stone. Overall a nice tour of Peggys Cove and that area bit not Halifax,

  • We had a great day with our small group tour to Peggy's cove and other landmarks in the Halifax area. Lunch was just right and the commentary was both informative and fun! Highly recommended for a day trip with a more personal touch than a coach tour.

  • Tour and lunch was worth 5 stars. The day was excellent and the tour guide driver was very informative and entertaining. We highly recommend it.Ron Pearce Gatineau Qc

  • This tour was a wonderful experience. It was well thought out and there was lots of time at each spot we visited.
Laila our guide/ owner of the company was a wealth of knowledge. We were the only two people on on this tour and that made it extra special. We learned about so many Historic events beyond the titanic. And of course there's Peggy's Cove!!!
Stunning.!! We enjoyed an exceptional day and would highly recommend this tour.

  • Best travel guide ever! We had an amazing time. One of the best things we did in Halifax!!!

  • My wife and I took this tour mid-June. 2017 We had particularly picked this tour having read the recommendations of others plus we wished to see the graves of some who were lost on the TITANIC.

On the day we took the tour it rained and when we say rain we mean it. There were 8 of us in the group the mini-bus could have held a couple more. Peggys Cove was in thick fog but in a way it added to the atmosphere. Although that was the main destination we were shown other points of interest.

Our guide, the owner was a fountain of knowledge and allowed plenty of time at each stop. Our lunch stop was excellent.

If we were to make an adverse comment it would only be to say that neither of us like to introduce ourselves as everyone was asked to do once everyone was aboard. It is appreciated that this is the North American way but both of us felt rather uneasy at saying who we were Christian name and surname to strangers. This did not stop us having a great day but perhaps thought might be given to those who prefer not to divulge such information until it is voluntarily put forward.

  • Great tour of a beautiful place! I highly recommend it.

  • We were picked up at our hotel by a knowledgeable tour guide in a comfortable 8 seat AC van. She taught so much history of the area. Peggy's Cove is a delightful, small fishing village with lighthouse, shops, eateries, info station and restrooms in two locations. The other places we saw were the SS Atlantic museum, the Titanic victims gravesites at the Fairview Cemetary, the Swiss Air 111 memorial. Lunch stop at the Finer Diner in Hackett's Cove was so much fun. We sat at a table for 9 and were able to pick anything off the menu. Lobster Rolls, fish chowder were our selection and they were delicious. Our group really got to know each other after that and conversation flowed. Last stop was the neighborhood that was affected by the Great Explosion when 2 cargo ships collided in the with ammunition that was set off by a fire caused by sparks. I won't tell it the story for yourselves to hear on tour. worth it! If I could make one suggestion...if the tour is offered a bit later than 9:30, try that. We had terrific fog in the morning that blocked scenic views. Bring a light jacket if you go in June like we did. Windy by the lighthouse, and rain pops up sporadically if it is in the forecast.
