Then make a visit to The Top, Komtar.

Know More about this tour

Firstly you take a scenic drive through the streets of Georgetown - UNESCO World Heritage Site and witness the ramnants left by the British and local dwellers of the past.

Take a short stroll through Armenian Street where its famed street art/murals are found. Discover the unique painted walls mimicking life in the city. Blending humour and historical elements, Ernest Zacharevic, a Lithuanian born artist, hand painted the art to reflect to local culture has to offer during his short stay in Penang in 2010. Some examples are Kids on a Bicycle, Boy On Chair, and many more.

Part of the heritage trail, the Clan jetties are a unique sight to witness as you walk through a wooden path on stilts with wooden houses beside you that are still inhabited by the locals till today. After the construction of the Quay in 1882, the waterfront was developed with short public landing stages or jetties. Settlements grew on these foundations and they were used for the loading and unloading of goods and for the mooring of sampans (boats). Gradually, each jetty became identified and dominated by certain clans and over time more huts sprung up. Be awed by the experience of going through a village atmosphere in the heart of the city.

After that, take a short ride on a this traditional mode of transport used in the past, Penangs own Trishaw. Feel pampered as your Captain take you through the bustling street in this short ride (15-20minutes).

Then enjoy the feeling of being on The Top.Towns highest point, the open-air Rainbow Skywalk is at Level 68, on the rooftop of Komtar tower, offering visitors the thrilling experience of walking on air 249m above ground. Meanwhile the air-conditioned Observatory Deck (10am-6pm only) at Level 65 also features a glass walkway that lets you watch the world go by below. It offers a stunning 360 view of Georgetown and beyond.

End of the tour return to your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle.

The tour wasn’t all it was made out to be, we started the tour with a drive around Georgetown as stated, then it was stated that we would go for a short stroll through Armenia St to look at the local artwork and then on to the Clan jetties for a short stroll, well we didn’t, not sure as to why but we didn’t, was looking forward to that leg of the tour for the information and history that would have come with it. We were then going on a trishaw ride, which we did, stating for about 15 - 20 minutes, ours lasted about 5. We then went on to The Top and the Rainbow Skywalk, that was lovely, the view was spectacular we went up to see the sun set and stayed until all the city lights were visible, there is a restaurant and bar up there so we sat up there having a wine watch the sights. Be aware you can do this without the tour and at a fraction of the cost, the tower is easily accessible by the public bus system which is clean and comfortable. We also had a lovely dinner at an Indian restaurant, if we had been given the choice which was stated Indian/Chinese we would have chosen Chinese but Indian it was, only draw back was it was a vegetarian restaurant once again that would not have been my choice. In all this would be a very easy tour to break down and do yourself and then saving you a lot of money. Not very satisfied.
