Know More about this tour

The tour starts with the pick up from your hotel located in central Calafate
The tour starts riding to the Glaciers National Park and we will use the 11 Route that borders the Lago Argentino. It is important to say that this glacier with the others, are part of the Patagonic Continental Ice becoming one of the most important potable water reserves.
Once we get into the park, we will go to Curva de los Suspiros, where we will see the Perito Moreno Glacier for the first time, a beautiful view.
Then, we will make another stop in Muelle Bajo Las Sombras for the ones who want to to the boat ride (optional)
if you choose the boat ride option, step aboard and sail across the Rico arm of Lake Argentino. Then, have your camera ready as you sail between floating ice close to the majestic 196-foot (60 meter) high front wall. Gaze up at the towering cliffs and watch spellbound as chunks of ice crash into the water an unforgettable sight.
We will continue to the glacier frontal walkways, where we will observe the glacier from various balconies located in different heights allowing us to appreciate it from different perspectives, each one more surprising than the previous one.
This unique natural wonder has been declared a "World Heritage Site of Humanity" by UNESCO in 1981. The National Park includes a scenario of mountains, lakes and forests, a large portion of the Andes Mountains covered with ice and snow to the west and the arid Patagonian steppe to the east.
In the South area of the National Park, it is the most famous of all the glaciers, the Perito Moreno Glacier. It owes its fame to its continuous movement, which produces a cyclical phenomenon of ongoing advance and retreat with spectacular falls of gigantic blocks of ice into the waters.
Follow the boardwalks to strategically placed viewing platforms to witness the glacier from all angles and levels, and admire the surrounding mountain and forest scenery. For close-up views of Peritos south face, visit the footbridge directly in front of the glacier. Marvel at the craggy 196-foot (60 meter) high front wall, with its meringue-like peaks and cliffs soaring over the lakes waters. Take close-up photos and listen for the eerie creaks that precede the regular calving when chunks of ice rupture and fall into the lake in a crashing spectacle.
Finally we will have free time to watch the glacier melt. If you want, you can have lunch in some of the restaurants close to the walkways.
During the afternoon, we will go back to your hotel in Calafate.

The tour itself was very good with a knowledgeable guide and beautiful scenery on the lake and at the glacier. There seems to be something lost in translation. As part of the instructions is a note about having to pay for National Park entry fee. They give you a website that is terrible and not clear what ticket you are buying. I ended up with the wrong ticket and was not told I could pay in the bus. This needs to be made clearer. The tour itself was great. You spend a long time on the boat going to with 300m of the glacier so you have ample Opportunity to get great photos of the glacier. Afterwards, you go to the balconies where you have a few hours to have a walk ok. The trails and grab some foos.

It was a good trip I was disappointed we thought we were going to get to walk on the glacier unfortunately that activity was not available since it’s winter time and it can be dangerous. I wished that it would have stated that in the description. I think it would have been cheaper if we rented a vehicle and had gone on our own. Overall it was a great experience to take pictures and learn about the Perito Moreno Glacier. Our guide was excellent and extremely knowledgeable about the region.

Really great trip! Laura our guide was fantastic. She spoke great english as well as her native spanish and was really informative about anything we asked. Jorge the driver was also great. The boat trip is definitely worth getting, it was brilliant seeing the glacier up close.

Wonderful to see if you have never seen a glacier before. The walkways along the face of the glacier are long and varied enough to last you most of the day and are weel designed, safe and secure. The ambulant walkways are much shorter, but wheelchair access with some views are possible. The glacier itself is not as big as I expected and as we went in the equivalent of mid Autumn, the snows had not started to fall, so in essence we saw a glacier surrounded by bare mountains, but when the mountains are covered in snow it will be much more spectacular.

The experience was unique. The Glacier is enormous and wonderful. It has so many variety of blue and white colors! I suggest the boat ride because you can see the extent of the Glacier from the bottom.

We didn't take the boat tour option and because of that we stayed more hours that's needed in there. Also, it was quite expensive, but I think there is no cheap tours going to perito moreno.

It's a long trip out to the glacier, but our guide filled the time with interesting information. The glacier is beautiful and fascinating.

Loved this tour. Great option for a solo traveller who doesn’t want to rent a car. Was a comfortable bus and a great guide. There were more steps than I realised, but I managed it. Wouldn’t miss this trip
