Know More about this tour

After pickup from your hotel in St Petersburg, your guide will take you to the boat station, located behind the Winter palace. Then, board a high-speed hydrofoil for an exciting 45-minute ride down the Neva River, seeing St Petersburg from a unique perspective as you coast along the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland.
When your boat docks at the mouth of the Sea Channel, enter Peterhofs enormous park complex, including elaborate gardens filled with 18th-century fountains, statues, palaces and pavilions built upon the orders of Tsar Peter the Great.
First, stroll through the estates Lower Park, which lies between the Grand palace and the shore and boasts more than 140 fountains, each operated without pumps. Stop at the impressive Grand Cascade with its golden statue of Samson holding open the jaws of a lion.
Once youve seen all three cascades, including one with a chessboard design and another featuring Chinese dragons, youll understand why Peterhof is referred to as the Russian Versailles. Then, continue to the Grand palace and explore its gorgeous interior, including 30 rooms decorated in an ornate, Baroque design.
From here, stroll through the Upper Garden, a typical French-style formal layout with five fountains, including one depicting Neptune God of the Sea. Watch out for the whimsical creations designed to soak visitors, such as the umbrella fountain that sheds water whenever someone takes a seat underneath! Your guide will then drop your group off in the city center to explore at your leisure.

We were very grateful to have our knowledgeable guide, Irena. She fast tracked us past the long lines and gave informative info on the history of Peterhof and each room in this beautifully restored palace and grounds.

We had a private tour of the palace and gardens and our guide was excellent throughout the entire tour. If you only had limited time to spend in St. Petersburg then put Peterhof to the top of list, I personally found it better then The Palace of Versailles in many ways, the restoration of the palace after being badly damaged after WWII is outstanding. Our tour last about 3 hours at the actual palace/gardens which only gives enough time to experience the main attractions, you would need days there to do this place justice.

    Over the top opulence.

A must see while in St Petersburg. The boat ride, is just the experience, but don't expect anything exciting of it and it is noisy that could be problem for small children.
The palace and the tour in general very good. Out guide was OK, at times she looked like very tired

Great tour and the guide was so informative and nice. Unfortuantely, it was a rainy day so we didn't get to enjoy walking in the gardens as we wished.

Absolutely wonderful guide, I won't embarrass myself by trying to spell her name collected us from the hotel on time with our driver. She made the car journey very interesting pointing out many interesting locations en route. Her knowledge of the Peterhof was superb, as was her enthusiasm during the entire 4 hours or so we were with her. A genuinely lovely time with a delightful guide. Please pass our thanks to her. Thank you

The Palace tour by itself is very good. The English guide very knowledgeable. The fountan system reminds me of Tivoli, Italy. The Rooms of the Palace are magnificent.
But don't expect too much from the boat ride as it is just a return boat trip with general public. You just get a voucher to ride for free as you obviously already paid for the transport.
That's why it is a 4 star rating.

comfortable mini van took us from our hotel in central St Petersburg and took us to Peterhof some 30 minutes away. The tour of Peterhof was great but somewhat rushed only because a large group with us had another tour to catch and were adamant we see everything rather quickly. However, we managed to see everything that we wanted and had plenty of time to take pictures of the beautiful park and fountains around the estate. We got back to St Peterrburg by hydrofoil which was comfortable and quick offering another perspective of the city.

Our guide was good, I had a little trouble hard understanding with his hard accent,at first but he had a full english vocabulary. The other guests in our group misunderstood that the boat ride was only ONE WAY HOME... Not both ways. So they made a big stink which ruined OUR tour. Wish the tour was longer as our guide was very knowledgable and would liked to have gotten more info from him.

We thoroughly enjoyed this magnificent and beautifully restored palace. Illi our guide was knowledgeable, funny and made the experience a brilliant tour for us. Illi suggested a delicious restaurant we've since visited twice. Thank you for a great Russian experience.
