Sit back, relax, and experience Philadelphia's history and popular attractions on board a stylish, horse-drawn carriage. Travel back in time on an enchanting 45-minute or 1-hour carriage ride through the tree-lined streets of the 'City of Brotherly Love.' Along the way, the driver/tour guide will share stories behind every attraction, including Independence National Historical Park, the Liberty bell, and Independence hall.

This historical tour departs from the carriage stand at 5th and Chestnut Streets. Travel to Society Hill, home to one of the largest selections of colonial homes as well as some of the oldest churches anywhere. Visit Old st. joseph's church, built in 1773, and the first Roman Catholic church in Philadelphia. Next, explore the Old City neighborhood, also known as America's most-historic mile. Tour the Betsy ross house, where the legendary seamstress sewed the first American Flag. Visit Elfreth's alley, the oldest-inhabited street in America, and then head to the Philadelphia Mint, Benjamin franklin's grave at Christ church Burial Ground, the National constitution center, and much more.

Our family of 6 enjoyed this tour. Our guide Bill was pleasant and very informative. Our 2 smaller children enjoyed petting Louise after the tour.

We had a wonderful guide and ride but the website is misleading. For one, you book the day, but they don't have a way to book a time, so you have to just wait until a carriage is free. The website doesn't make it clear that the rides must END by 3:30 PM - it sounds like you can start a ride anytime from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM but the last ride actually needs to start at 2:30 PM to end in time to be off the streets by 3:30 for rush hour. Finally, we waited at 5th and Chestnut for a carriage like the website and the office staff said, but the carriages actually park on 6th Street between Market and Chestnut and you can't readily see them if you stand at 5th and Chestnut. We waited for 20 minutes before the guard at Independence Hall asked if we were waiting for an Uber and correctly told us to talk over to 6th Street and down to Market. Also, don't forget to print your ticket and bring it with you.

This tour lasted 45 min. instead of the full hour. The guide was ok, but now as good as many tour guides I've had before.

The carriage ride is so gorgeous! It takes you along such pretty streets in Philly. The horses are beautiful. We took an hour ride, and the scenery was just picture perfect. It was one of our favorite experiences of our trip!

This was awesome. Received a call letting g me know we would start late due to the fact it was too hot for the horse. Loved that! :-)

It was a nice way in seeing all of the historical sights in the city. The guide was a little inexperienced (hence the 3 star) but I and #39;m sure there are many experienced guides out there.

Our hotel was not super near where the carriages are parked so I was happy that there was a complimentary shuttle service to and from the carriage. Our guide and horse Barney were both excellent.
