Set out on a sunset cruise from Phillip island that takes in sights along Western Port Bay near the Mornington Peninsula. Your captain provides light commentary as you pass landmarks such as French Island and Stony Point, but the spectacular scenery speaks for itself. Dolphins and Australian fur seals are frequently spotted in these waters, along with seabirds such as the short-tailed shearwater. Snack on complimentary hot and cold appetizers served during the cruise; drinks are available for purchase from the full bar.
Know More about this tour
Keep an eye out for wildlife including Australian fur seals, dolphins and seabirds. You might see short-tailed shearwaters (muttonbirds) as they return to their burrows on French Island after a day of feeding at sea. These humble birds complete an extraordinary annual migration that goes from Australia to Japan, Siberia, Alaska, down the coast of North America to California, then across the Pacific Ocean to return to Australia.
As the sun begins to set, take in the glow of the red and orange sky reflecting on the water and watch the lights come up in towns around the bay. During the cruise you can nibble on complimentary hot and cold appetizers that are passed on trays and perhaps purchase a drink from the full bar.
Your sunset cruise wraps up upon your return to Cowes Jetty at the end of your 90-minute tour. Nearby, you can find plenty of dining options that you might like to check out afterwards at your leisure.

On reading previous reviews I was excited for this cruise, only to be left quite disappointed. There was zero commentary/information given on board and the sail was up the coast and back again. I would have loved to learn about the history of the island or hear about the wildlife around the island but no.. we were welcomed on board and then thanked as we were leaving. That was it. Definitely not worth what we paid.. the snack boxes given out were the only reason I didn’t give this trip 1/5. The girls working on the boat were pleasant also. Save your money and have a walk along the beach instead. Waste of time in my opinion.
Fantastic time! Great sights, good nibbles and fantastic staff! Highly recommended as a post dinner/pre dessert activity.
We had a great time on this cruise! The staff were all lovely, the boat was in great condition and the captains commentary was awesome. The only issue we had was that the ‘light canapés’ was a plate of fruit - I’m glad we had dinner before going! Other than that we had a great time and would highly recommend the experience to anyone
Really good experiance loved every minute of it and would do again thanks to sir captain john and Crew Georgia, Mel and Chris thankyou again love (tupperware man) xoxox
Had an amazing time on the Phillip island twilight cruise. The crew were fantastic and very accommodating. Would highly recommend this cruise. If you are looking for something to do with the family or even friends this is a great cruise. Thanks to the captain John and crew Georgia, Mel and Chris.
Commentary was excellent. Finger foods were a nice bonus. Everything else was quite a good view and atmosphere.
The crew on this boat are very professional and really know how to make people feel welcome and comfortable. The commentary was interesting and scenery enjoyable. Seeing the submarine so close was a highlight of my holiday on Phillip Island.
Great commentary, very friendly young staff , food provided was lovely. Despite the weather, which wasn’t kind- cloudy and musty rain- we enjoyed our little outing. Must do it again .... maybe we’ll see a sunset next time.
We had a wonderful time on the Twilight cruise, met new people and some great scenery. The HMAS Otama was well worth seeing, had no idea it was there. The staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy being there and mingling with the guests. Would definitely recommend. :)
We had a wonderful time on the Twilight Cruise, the views of the island were stunning, and we got to see seals, dolphins, wallabies and different birds. The crew were so friendly, warm and welcoming and great finger food was provided during the cruise. The commentary from the Captain was interesting and informative. I definitely recommend it!
