Overview

Uncover the special religious significance and the natural beauty of Phnom Kulen Mountain, Cambodias most sacred mountain, located 50 km from Siem Reap. Learn why the site serves as a place of pilgrimage to both Hindus and Buddhists by visiting the temple of the Reclining Buddha, the River of 1000 Lingas and the Phnom Kulen Waterfalls.

Know More about this tour

Meet your guide at your hotel in Siem Reap at 8 am. Depart in the morning heading north towards Kulen Mountain through approximately a 2-hour drive in an air-conditioned vehicle. Enjoy the scenic ride along the way as you pass through local villages and verdant tropical forest.

You will visit Cambodias biggest Reclining Buddha carved on sandstone. The temple is located on top of the hill and can be reached through a flight of steps. Next you will set off to the sacred river of 1000 Lingas. The riverbed is interestingly carved with numerous lingas, a phallic symbol of the Hindu god, Shiva. You will also see some rock carvings along the river depicting Hindu deities.

You will continue through another sacred site, the Phnom Kulen Waterfalls. Calm your senses by watching the waterfall tumbling down the rocks. You will have time to wade in its basin and opt to cool-off from the midday sun by swimming on its pool.

Discover and learn more about the historical and cultural significance of Phnom Kulen as your expert guide walks you through each of these landmarks.

Stop for lunch (at your own account) at a local restaurant along the way before heading back to your hotel.

Mr Reaksa arrived to pick us up in the morning directly from our hotel (which wasn't easy to get to) and was very friendly from the start, introducing himself and explaining a little about where we would be going. Kulen Mountain is around 90 minutes from where we stayed but on the way Mr Reaksa bought our tickets for us and filled the journey with his great local knowledge of the area, farming and villagers and some of the history of the countryside. Whilst at the mountain we saw the top of the 1000 Lingas River and learnt about its history, and proceeded to see the Reclining Buddha and the amazing landscape views. He then guided us through the village down to the waterfall, which has got to be one of the most incredible sights we've ever seen. We got up close and Mr Reaksa took some fantastic pictures for us! On the way back we stopped for dinner, where again the food was great, then as an extra we called into the Cambodian Landmine Museum, where could learn even more about the history of Cambodia, the Khymer Rouge, and the work of Aki Ra. Mr Reaksa then dropped us off right outside our hotel for a glorious round trip. If you're lucky enough to see Mr Reaksa in the morning, you're in for a truly amazing day!

그렇게 좋거나 감명깊지는 않지만 캄보디아에서 앙코르와트 빼고는 관광지가 거의 없으니 하루 정도 가보시는 것도 추천드립니다.

It was a wonderful visit to the Phnom Kulen waterfall and the river of the 1,000 Lingas. Han was a brilliant tour guide and very informative about the history of Cambodia and the various religious shrine at Phnom Kulen as well as the River of the 1000 Lingas and so much more. I was very impressed by his knowledge. He demonstrated great care in guiding me and helped with my bag, hat etc. It would be remiss of me if I do not mention how absolutely polite, patient and helpful he was during the entire trip... of course , not forgetting his kind help in taking photographs of me which will become an important part of my memories of this tour. My sincere thanks to Han for making this tour my best day in Siem Reap. I therefore would give Han 5* ++++++

Really thankful to Choub and Mr. Tit Sokhen for taking us on an amazing journey. Started off with Sunrise which was not that impressive but up with his detailed explanation and enthusiasm about Ankor. Choub is nothing short of limitless for his photo ideas and offered to take photos as memories during the trip. Beyond the chill day at the waterfall at Kulen Mountains, Ta Phrom is one not to be missed if you're in town. Once again thanks for a memorable full day despite the pack schedule!

Loved the trip to the mountain and waterfall. The guide Phearom was exceptional and clearly knows his history of the country. Very knowledgeable and interesting and very helpful. Waterfall is amazing, as is the reclining Buddha.
