Know More about this tour

Enjoy convenient morning pickup from your hotel in Playa del carmen, and travel with your guide to Tulum, the Walled City that boasts an enviable location. Mounted on the edge of a bluff, Tulum towers above the Caribbean Sea and a flawless white sandy beach. At the ruins, learn about the now-abandoned city that was only inhabited by Maya nobles, high priests and prominent citizens, and then enjoy free time on the nearby beach.

Afterward, visit Rancho San Felipe, a Maya community of 30 residents; part of your tour proceeds goes to the sustainable development of local Maya communities. Meet a shaman during a traditional purification ceremony. Afterward, take a short trek into the jungle and enter Sac Actun ("White Cave") and Nohoch Nah Chich ("Giant Bird Cage"), the Yucatn regions second and third longest cave systems.

Follow your guides lead inside the caves, and learn about the discovery and ongoing exploration of the extensive underground river network that included passageways to Tulum. Arrive at a cenote (natural underground pool) and snorkel in clear waters, surrounded by dramatic rock formations like stalactites and stalagmites.

Next, travel within the lush forest aboard a Mercedes-Benz Unimog, a massive 4x4 vehicle. You'll stop to rappel your way down 40 feet (12 meters) to Yaxmuul, another cenote. Enjoy thrills through the treetop canopy along three ziplines; be prepared for a splashy ending. Wrap up your day with a satisfying buffet lunch of homemade classic Maya fare.

Then board your air-conditioned transport and relax during the ride back to Playa del carmen. Your full-day tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel in the evening.

This tour was great. We visited two cenotes and we also were part of a Mayan ritual which was so cool! We enjoyed every moment of it. We did get confused with the 4x4 we thought we were going to ride ATVs but we really just got into a big truck LOL.

This excursion was 10/10! The day started with 2 ziplines, and then we ziplined into a cenote, then snorkeled for a good amount of time, then 2 more ziplines, and then repelling down into another cenote! We were fed a Mayan lunch and then spent a few hours at the Tulum Ruins which has the most beautiful beach. Well worth the money and Sarah is the best guide!! Makes you feel very safe on the ziplines and is very knowledgeable.

Had a really great experience! Thank you Eli and Liz. I only disliked the bites from mosquitos, My legs at this time look diseased!😂 Also the food for me was lacking. The exploration was awesome! 5 zip lines, a rappelling and the Cenotes 🤩😘😊

This is one of the best activities we did! Staff is friendly, the activities were so much fun, and the food afterward was great! Highly recommend.

As it says in the title, we thoroughly enjoyed everything in this tour. It is a full, long day, so if you're not into those excursions, it's probably not up your alley. REBECA was our tour guide, and she is THE BEST! I can only hope, if you book this excursion, that Rebeca is your guide for the day.

This is an active excursion. Moderately long drive to the jungle. Hike into the jungle. Zip-lining. Snorkeling. Swimming. Rappelling. They provided two community lockers, and there are changing stations between activities in the jungle. If you are into this type of active excursion, I believe you'll thoroughly enjoy it. If not, you may want to look into other options.

We really enjoyed it! My wife was certain and excited about this excursion. I was excited, but a little nervous with a small fear of heights and claustrophobic tendencies, however I had a blast and felt great that I overcame my fears on the zip-line and snorkeling in an underwater river system and the cenotes.

This excursion really made our trip! And provided memories for a lifetime.

Our guide Paco was fantastic! Would say zipline and cenote was highlights of this excursion package. You do get wet, but plenty of time to change dry and get wet again. Tulum is more of the site seeing portion of the trip. It’s really warm and you will need water. Some parts of the walk there is very little shade so be prepared. All in all great way to spend a day.

This was an adventure tour for two 12 year old girls and two adults. The zip lining and cave snorkeling was amazing. Worth every cent and then some. I loved the shaman prayer at the start. It was an original experience. Plenty complained about not being able to bring their phones, and I thought I’d be one of those people but here’s the thing: leaving the phone behind meant just being in the moment. Fully experiencing flying through the air and exploring cenotes. There’s a photographer there to grab wonderful shots of the whole entire thing and otherwise we were off the iPhone leash for a few hours. Yes the photos are expensive. We paid 130 or something for the full package and have zero regrets. The food is good, they accommodated my vegetarian daughter and my picky husband. The tour guide was phenomenal, friendly, fun and educated. My 2 real complaints: the 4x4 ride is just a 2 min truck ride to the dive sites. Kinda silly to advert it. It’s not special. And they should’ve done the tour of the ruins first, before the midday sun starts blazing. It would’ve been fun to cool off after in the cenotes and on the zip lines. Otherwise, I’d do it again 10 times over!

Our tour operator Riaz was could not be more helpful. Very knowledgable about the Mayan history and made the Tulum visit interesting. Happy to answer to all the endless questions.
Really good humour, first hand tour guide- did the cenote rapelling, cave snorkelling and zip lining with us. All of the activity were interesting and fun. Meal at the end of the tiring day was plenty and delicious. Overall a thrilling, fantastic day out, and a must do.

It was a fun trip with the family. Oscar, our waiter at the pool, was REALLY REALLY good. He did an excellent job! Volleyball and lounging around the pools were fun. The young people at the hotel kept the days at the pool entertaining. The tours and excursions were nice. The water at the Cenotes was cool and I wish there were more to have been seen underwater, but it was nice.

Chose this tour for the good reviews and the variety. Taking the whole family, with three energetic boys ages 10-13, we thought that the variety would not disappoint. And it did not, EXCEPT for our very last experience that day, which really left me with a sour memory.

Tulum was fascinating this part was really for dad more than the boys. I would have enjoyed some time with a guide that was more deeply knowledgeable of the history and the archaeology, though my wife and boys would probably say that the amount of detail was just about right.

The trip up to the underground river complex which contained all of the other activities was pleasant. We had a great driver--very courteous, very attentive. It was nice to have some lockers and showers at the base for changing and for locking things up. You have to leave your cameras and phones here--can't take them with you which bummed me out a bit. Our kids had great fun going from zipline to cenote to river to zipline to rappelling to zipline. It was a great pace--both fun and interesting at the same time. I found the underground river/cenote/cave and the geology of the area to be fascinating. The water was crisp, cool, crystal clear. The guides were adequate. Our guide did quite a good job managing a bilingual tour group half French, half English.

The food was delicious--quite well done, and really hit the spot at the end of a busy appropriately exhausting day. We went 3 for 3 with fast-asleep boys on the ride back to the resort. Great time--great memories.

I have one primary complaint about the tour, though... I'm kind of big on pictures. I mean, the reason we do this is to create memories and these always remain crisper and clearer with good photographs. Here, we couldn't bring our cameras per a policy that I actually understand--you need to have your hands free to be safe on all of the ziplines and other potentially dangerous activities. But we were assured that there would be photographers taking pictures along the way. And they did take fantastic photos. At the end of our tour, we were all led into a room, where they had rows of computers, one of which displayed all of the photos taken of our family. Then they came over and told us the price--160!!!!!!! What??? I asked again in Spanish, thinking I'd misheard, but unfortunately I hadn't. It felt like they were holding my memories hostage to extort what seems to me to be an absurd amount of money for a handful of photographs. With great shame, I paid the money, feeling a little violated. I felt like I had no choice--especially since I couldn't bring a camera on the tour to begin with.

So, the boys all left with nothing but great memories. Dad left with many great memories, but a big black exclamation point at the end. Personally, I wouldn't do a tour with this group Alltournative again on this point alone, until and unless they change the price of their photo packages. I think they would do well to take a page out of the Disney playbook... We recently spent a weekend there, paid 50, and got all of the pictures we wanted from all the rides, with all of the characters, etc. Left us excited. Look back at those photographs with fond remembrance. And Disney got tons of free advertising with all of the photos posted on social media. I would venture to bet that Alltournative would make MORE money if they followed suit like this--they'd probably sell four times as many packages!!!
