We learnt a lot and were impressed the scope and detail at both sites. Paolo was exceptionally knowledgeable. Thanks to Giovanni for taking such good care of us

I highly recommend this engaging, informative tour. The history of Pompeii and Herculaneum was woven into lots of interesting stories.

I chose this tour for several reasons. Firstly it included Herculaneum as well as Pompeii. Secondly it included transport from the meeting point (which was conveniently near my hotel) to Pompeii, then to Herculaneum and back to where we met. It was also a 9.20am start and as I only arrived in Naples late the night before this was a godsend. The driver (Giovanni) was excellent despite his limited English. He was a very safe and reliable driver as well as being friendly and helpful. Our guide (Lucca) was super. He gave very good introductions to each place about what happened at that fateful time in AD79. He showed us the highlights of each site and made it entertaining and interesting, he clearly has a passion for the subject. I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit both these sites and wants it to be as easy and convenient as you can get. Thanks for a wonderful trip

The very best and only way to see these sites. Our driver and leader were amazing, professional, knowledgeable and made sure we got the most from this trip with our family.

Despite a very hot day the tour was informative and the tour guide was also very informed about the everyday life of the people of Pompeii and Herculeum . The driver Francesco Calenda was so helpful giving us a lift back to Pompeii train station. PLUS the car airconditioning was much appreciated

We just returned from Italy, and Askos is the #1 review I will be writing! I arranged a private day through them for my family (my parents, myself and my two boys ages 5 and 9), after the first tour company I booked with told me I couldn't customize anything. With Askos, they let me customize exactly what I wanted - private transport from Naples train station, 2 hours in Herculaneum, wine tasting lunch at a nearby winery, 3 hours in Pompeii, and ride back to the train station. I had to sort my own train tickets from Rome, but they helped with the timings and operators (I used Italo high-speed trains, which cut travel time more than in half). All communications were answered so promptly, so professionally - I got email and WhatsApp notes, I felt 100% taken care of. Office staff gets an A+ for sure! Day of, Francesco was our driver - he parked and met us inside the Naples train station, which I really appreciated. The van was clean and cool, and stocked with waters and hard candies, which my boys promptly hoarded. Francesco was dressed in a jacket and tie, and so kind and professional - we really felt like VIPs. He took care to point out landmarks and the islands on our drive from Naples. Another A+ experience! Our archaeologist tour guide was Jasmine, and she MADE the whole trip!! She is clearly super smart and a natural teacher and storyteller, but she also exuded curiosity and phrased things in a way that felt like we were discovering together - not easy, considering she's probably led these tours dozens/hundreds of times! She was so kind and inclusive to my boys, and also answered our questions in depth, not just cursory explanations. She really knows her stuff and is just so personable. I wish we could have had Jasmine guide us around everything else we saw in Italy (actually, not a bad idea for our next trip...!). Jasmine took us to both Herculaneum and Pompeii, which was great, so we could experience the highlights of both without duplicating information. We could not have asked for a better day with her, 100% A++!! Lunch was as good as it can get - a charcuterie course and pasta lunch on a shaded patio surrounded by grapevines at Bosco de Medici winery. It was a little salesy, but I think this is how nearly all winery visits go. The wine was good, and it was fun to try local. They were great with the kids and offered them pasta and chicken tenders, which I really appreciated! And to think I nearly paid a several hundred more euro for a non-customizable day with a long drive from Rome! This was such a smooth, fun, and educational day. I was dreading the long day of travel and the uncertainty of all the connections, but there was nothing to worry about at all - the Askos team, Francesco and Jasmine made us feel totally taken care of the whole time. THANK YOU!

Everything about our experience was top notch. From our driver to our tour guide, everyone on the team was friendly and professional. Paolo shared tons of great information and interesting details about Pompeii and Herculaneum. Throughout the tour he made sure everyone was comfortable and hydrated and we had plenty of opportunities to take photos and ask questions. Pompeii is huge so make sure you have plenty of water and don’t expect to see the entire site during this tour, especially if you’re also visiting Herculaneum on the same day. I’m glad I had the chance to see both because the ruins at Herculaneum are extremely well preserved, including the artwork. A fantastic experience! I highly recommend Askos tours and will look to use them again if I’m ever back in the area.

Our driver Giovanni and our guide Giacoma were wonderful. They made our time in Pompeii and Herculaneum enjoyable and fascinating.

Excellent full day tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum! We were a family group of 6, ages 11-70+. Our driver, Giovanni, was kind, courteous, friendly, helpful but mostly was very thoughtful after knowing my 15 y/o gets car sick. PERFECT driver! No car sickness! Something I thought was impossible given Napoli traffic and Vesuvius roads. Bravo Giovanni! Our guide, Jasmine, was great as well. She was friendly, knowledgeable and openly shared what she knew about Pompeii and Herculaneum. We could all tell she had a passion for history, culture, art, archeology, and ancient Roman and Greek society. It was a long day, a full day, but everyone enjoyed it. Highly recommend!
