A fantastic day with our friendly driver Francesco. He informed us about the city, area, Vesuvius and the history of the two sites we visited. He was passionate and keen to share his beautiful city with us. We found Herculaneum better to explore and complete in one visit, Pompeii is huge, busy and you need longer than 2 hours! The car was very comfortable, transfers were easy and efficient. The vineyard was a lovely break in the day for lunch. We were disappointed that we had to pay extra to taste the wine, as thought this was what we had already booked?!

This is a fine family-run business. We had the pleasure of taking two tours with Giovanni (John). One of Paestum and Mozzarella farm and one of Pompeii, Vesuvius and the winery that included a transfer from Positano to Naples. Giovanni was a fun and also very careful driver. He speaks English well. He grew up in Pompeii, lives in the area, and knows it thoroughly. His insights into southern Italy and the local area were interesting to us as we drove along, feeling very safe on the winding coastal roads. On both trips he took us to special places and vistas for pictures along the way, and gave us valuable recommendations for after the tour. Our second trip included a stop at Pompeii where our guide was Giovanni’s sister, Gracia (Grece, Grace). She was a very helpful and knowledgeable guide who navigated us around and explained the most important sites, making the most of the two hours we had. She also takes great photos of the group. We had a great time with them and can’t recommend this business enough.

This is the best way to see Pompeii from Rome. Our family of four took the fast train from Rome to Naples and Gianluca picked us up from the train station. He drove us to Pompeii and they arranged a private tour of the ruins. Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgable and we loved having a private guide. Pompeii was just fascinating. After our tour, Gianluca drove us to a winery for lunch and a tour and then back to the train station. The team was highly responsive and it was very reasonable for the service. Highly recommend!!!

Our trip with John and his driver were awesome! Both men were very knowledgeable on the country’s history and of the City of Naples. They both spoke very well English for those that don’t speak anything besides English. Although the day we traveled to Pompei, Mt. Vesuvius, & the wine farm was rainy and stormy, they still made the very best of it. They were both so fun and as I stated before they know their city of Naples very well. They asked us if we had anywhere else we wanted to go visit or another attraction we wanted to go see and they took us anywhere within the city and told us about it and the background. We decided to go to the Napoli’s football team’s stadium (which was not on our itinerary). This was very far out of the way compared to where they picked us up at our hotel, but yet they said it was no problem at all, we can take you to go see it. We never felt unsafe. The two men gave us their cell phone numbers in case we wanted to be picked up earlier or wanted to stay at our attraction for longer. They were always prompt and were on time when they picked us up from our hotel that morning. All around, my family and I had a very nice time with these men and would highly recommend The Pompei Car Service if you are traveling to Naples and want to see more other than just the inner city. Out of all of our days my family and I spent in Naples, that day was our favorite because of our guides! Thank you Pompeii Car Service!

What a fantastic experience. Our driver picked us up in time in a beautiful Mercedes van which was great for 4 guys to have space. Our driver was very amusing and spoke very good english. He organised a guide for Pompeii when we decided during the day to have one. The whole trip was a breeze. This is the company to book with as l know l would again and again.

As there were only 3 of us, you might as well call this a private tour at an outstanding price. Our driver, Gianluca, picked us up promptly at our hotel and provided us with an on-going narrative about Naples and the areas we were passing through on our way to Herculaneum (aka Ercolano), our first stop. He got us there just before it opened and well before the crowds. The stop was planned for 2 hours, we told us to take as much time as we needed there. Then on to Pompeii as Gianluca again talked about things we were seeing along the way; he even made a side trip to the current town of Pompeii for a quick visit to the cathedral. The Pompeii ruins are massive so, to make the most of our visit, we decided to use a tour guide. While it's possible to join a large tour group when you get there (at a much lower cost), we preferred to have a private tour. Gianluca arranged to have a guide meet us on our arrival (at a cost less than the private tours being offered on site). A 2-hour tour would never be long enough to see everything there; fortunately, our guide showed and explained so much to us that we would have been overwhelmed if we had stayed longer. Our last stop was at a winery at the foot of the volcano. After a short, but interesting, tour of the winery, we enjoyed sampling several variety of wines and overindulged in a wonderful lunch. All-in-all, it was a wonderful day – thank you Gianluca!
