We were born, raised and always lived in Porto, so we know the city as a local and, since it is a private tour, we will customize it according to your interests.
In this private food/wine tour we will focus on Portuguese gastronomy, but you will learn a lot about our culture, history and traditions, which makes us unique.
You will visit the temporary Bolho market and several food spots and tascas (traditional stores), while getting in contact with the locals. Meanwhile, discover the stories behind our main dishes: the legend of the "tripeiros", name given to the porto inhabitants; you will learn how "francesinha" is made, that "caloric bomb" that you should not miss and the tasty codfish recipes, so important in our culture.
We will harmonize it with our portuguese wines and explain the diverse grapes and wine regions. And what about our cakes, like pastel de nata or jesuta,...?

We would highly recommend this tour. Joao was professional and informative and a pleasure to spend a morning with - we learned so much of the history of Porto as well as enjoying the food and wine of this area
Fantastic tours, help and advice from Sara, Rui and Joao. We’ve had two wonderful and memorable days and visited amazing wineries. Thank you so much.
Joao was a great tour guide and took us to several beautiful places. A trip to remember! Picked us up from our hotel and took us to several places in Douro valley incl. a gorgeous boat ride and wine tastings
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour in Porto with João. He provided insight into the culture and development of the area, along with a wonderful sampling of a variety of food and drinks. He was friendly and knowledgable, and accommodated us with several stops along the tour for us to explore shops and sights we were interested in. I highly recommend Oporto & Douro Moments.
We had the greatest time touring with Oporto & Douro Moments! My husband and I had traveled to Porto once before but wanted to try something different this time. We booked a walking food and wine tour on a Sunday morning and it was the perfect way to see the city (definitely wear comfy shoes!) and get to learn a little more about the history and the special dishes of Porto! Highly recommend!
We had a great experience on a private tour with João. Excellent service, communication and wine yards visited We enjoyed the trip and can highly recommend it
My wife and I did the food tour with Sara. She was excellent. Life long resident of the area who was able to provide great perspective on the food, culture and ongoing development of the city. As we had not had a chance yet to explore the city, Sara adapted the tour on the fly to show us some of the historical sites and make recommendations on what to come back to see. Bring your walking shoes.
My husband and I booked a wine tour with Rui during our stay in Douro. We were staying outside of the two main towns, so we had to book a private tour. We visited two wineries, had lunch and visited the town of Pinhao. Rui was such a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and a great conversationalist! We thoroughly enjoyed our day. I would recommend if you do not have a car and you want to explore the area and taste some wine!
Ook hier weer een gezellige maar voral ook cullinaire trip gehad en mede dankzij de tourgids Jimmy een mooie belevenis!
Sara customized our tour to allow for half walking and half driving. It has not rained much in Porto but we happened to hit it on a day it did not stop drizzling. Nevertheless, Sara took us through the streets of Porto regaling us with stories and history. Everywhere we stopped we were greeted with a smile and something to eat and drink. From the market and green wine with sardines (canned this time of year), to the francesinha (little french woman) we covered the highlights of the city. Sara keeps everything light and entertaining. The time passed all too quickly but it was delightful.
