I traveled to Panama with my 78-year-old father because it was his dream to see the canal. He really loves history so we booked this tour to portobello and our guide was Milton. Milton was fantastic! He had a terrific knowledge of history and did everything he could to show us a wonderful hospitality! we had an amazing time!!! One tip, the road to Portobello is winding and narrow. If you are a person who gets motion sickness easily, take dramamine before the tour.

When the guide Abel picked us up, we were the only passengers. He said the other group had an illness and cancelled. Most companies would just cancel us, but not this one. We got a private tour that was amazing. From beautiful relaxing beaches to seeing a monkey and a sloth, this was a great trip. The ruins at Portobello were very interesting as well as a church we made a quick stop at. Highly recommend. Water is a beautiful clear green color. It is a long trip so be prepared for a two hour drive, but well worth it.

The tour guy gave us a bit of history about Panama and Panama Canal and also about a few islands. That was the only part about our tour that was interested and the rest was just driving and sitting on the chair in the island which was disappointing due to lots of waves and for these reasons I am not recommend this tour.

Excellent experience. Mamey is beautiful. Very relaxing. Guide was very kind and informative. I would go again! We actually saw 2 dolphins on the boat ride to the island and even saw a monkey on the island. The guide had said he never saw a monkey there before.

Daniel was amazing! Overall, this was a great trip. Daniel was knowledgeable and funny. Isla Mamey was calm and relaxing, with lots of fish and coral. If you can, bring a mask and other stuff to snorkel.

our guide was super nice , but it was all mixed up , long wait time to get everyone picked up, it was suppose to have drinks including beer well there was 2 beers for 6 people ,so we had to buy our own they had to switch shuttles cuz the first one was to small ,it wasn't well thought out , he has never been to the island and one person had to remind him that the fort was part of the tour, I'm sure it it wasnt his fault he thought he was doing a different tour , it really was not worth all the drive time with the traffic going ,

The tour with Mario was fantastic. The ride was long, as described, so don't be surprised. Also Mamey Island is a "private"/remote location, so please keep that in mind when thinking of the food to bring and the bathroom situation. Mario got us a canopy for hours of shaded relaxation. 3 -4 hours at the island and then a short but very informative stop at Fort Portobelo on the way back. Highly recommended activity.
