Your driver and guide will meet you at the reception of your accommodation in Marrakech. First, you will cross the spectacular Tizi n' Tichka Pass of the High Atlas Mountains. Your first stop will be to visit two Kasbahs, Ait Ben Haddou (a UNESCO World Heritage site, which has been used as the location for over 20 different movies) and Kasbah Telouet. Driving between these two Kasbahs you will have another quick stop to take a look at the Salt Caves. After these stops you will drive onwards, passing through many Berber villages, being able to observe the Skoura oasis, Kalaat Mgouna, with groves of spectacular olive trees and barren hillsides that are clustered among Kasbahs and traditional Berber houses. After lunch, you will drive further to the Valley of the Roses, with beautiful views of the Dades Valley (also known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs). You will spend your night in a hotel in Dades Valley with dinner included.
Day Two: Valley of the Roses - Todra Gorge - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi
Your 2nd day will start with breakfast at the hotel, before you travel to Todra Gorge, a massive fault that divides the enormous High Atlas Mountain range. The Gorge will take you to 300m above sea level and through a narrow valley, with palmeries and Berber villages. Your next stop will be the village of Arfoud, a famous area for fossils and you will have a chance to observe the process of cleaning and polishing the fossils and be able to see the finished products. After lunch you will head to the tiny village of Merzouga where, after a short break, you will ride camels into the incredible Erg Chebbi dunes the highest dunes in Morocco. After the dunes, it is a 1.5-hour sunset camel ride to a traditional Berber meal and the opportunity to sleep under the stars (or in a tent if you prefer) at a Berber desert camp.
Day Three: Erg Chebbi - Merzouga - Marrakech
As the morning breaks on your 3rd day, you will be treated to a beautiful view of the early morning sunrise as you saddle up for the journey back to Merzouga. You will return to Marrakech through Ouarzazate where you will have lunch (the visit of the Kasbah of the city, and the studio of the cinema depends on time availability) before concluding your journey in Marrakech.

We were looking forward to this trip but unfortunately it was not as described online. We had multiple issues listed below: 1) Issues with booking. The day before the booking we were up until 10:45pm trying to arrange our pickup for the correct tour. The organiser was disinterested and almost booked us on the wrong tour. He was also very rude to us on the phone and kept trying to hang up and telling us to relax 2) No hotel pickup as offered. Instead we had to meet the driver at pre arranged point. 3) Supposed to be Driver + guide provided. Only one person taking us on tour. Responsible for all the driving and guide work. 4) Day 1: No visit to Kasbah Telouet, no visit to the salt caves. 5) Issues with guide. Guide did not point out any of the points of interest throughout the journey. Additionally he did not know basic information about the places we did visit. (E.g. I asked how old ait Ben haddou was and he did not know, he shrugged when I asked.). 6) Day 1: Accomodation. The hotel we stayed at had an issue with the plumbing as the bathroom and the room smelt. The food served in the evening was also inedible. We ended up eating pringles in our room for dinner. 7) Day 2: No visit to village of Arfoud. We didn't learn about the fossils either. 8) Day 2: Berber camp. Looked nothing like the the pictures online. Poorly lit, uncomfortable, found a cockroach in our tent. Our camp was next door to a camp that looked like the online pictures however we were told that to stay there was an extra cost and that it was fully booked. Also there was no option to sleep under the stars, as described. 9) Day 3: No visit to city Kasbah or cinema studio. As described online. 10) Day 3: Driving. Our driver drove very fast and sometimes recklessly on the way back to Marrakech. It made us feel motion sick and uncomfortable, especially considering how tired the driver was. It didn't feel safe. The driver explained he had another tour the next day. Assumedly he wanted to get back as quickly as possible so he could rest ahead of the next trip. 11) Shops: we missed many stops that we were supposed to see and instead our driver took us to many shops. Over our 3 day tour we were taken to no fewer than 10 shops with no other purpose than to look at things to buy. It seemed obvious to me that the tour guide or tour company had agreed in advance to bring tourists to the shop as part of the tour. Very disappointing to say the least.

We had amazing time during this trip. Our guide Abdoullah is kind and nice, very good driver, polite and helpful! He choose for us good restaurants and hotels! I really recommend this experience in Marocco!!!

We had a great trip across half of Morocco - the nature in the east of the country is absolutely fantastic and totally worth a visit; if you have time do allow more than three days though, to have more time to wander and explore. Three days is a bare minimum. The night in the desert was a wonderful experience, the camels were nice and seemed to have a good life there. Our guide was very friendly but did not speak much English so there was little actual guiding, although he navigated the crazy traffic and winding mountain roads very skillfully, so probably good that he focused on the road instead of telling us the history of the country... Thanks very much for a memorable experience!

Obrigado Aziz Talaewl!

We honestly couldn’t have had a better time. Mohammed was nothing less than incredible. He has genuinely become a friend to us and went above and beyond his role as a tour guide. Always so professional and polite and such a passionate and knowledgable guide. A friendly and genuinely person who stopped every time we asked for photographs, he answered all our questions about the country and even when he must have been tired after hours of driving he was so positive and happy! The drive time flew by and was a truly amazing part of the trip. We loved being in the mountains, meeting many lovely Berber people and seeing the sights. Mohammed was incredible and we would advise anyone to book this tour over another. We spoke to many others who booked similar tours and everyone seemed very jealous! Such an amazing way to see the country and we feel fortunate to now call Mohammed a friend!

We had the best holiday experience on Marrakech to Merzouga 3 days tour. From the stop over picturesque places to our hotel stay, restaurant stop over and the sahara camp stay was all great experience. Our tour guide/driver Abdul speaks very good english, very polite & friendly. He made us feel safe on our entire journey.

Before the tour I was wondering the guide can be nice with us but finally I just want to say my guide, Salah is a SUPERB GUIDE! He was very nice and always explain anything in Morocco. Moreover, and it is important thing that he always recommend us where can buy the REAL local product. 5 stars service!!!!

Simply the best tour I have been on. Mohamed our guide and driver was outstanding from start to finish. Clean, air conditioned bus - makes a massive difference with so much driving in July! All stops on the way to desert (first 2 days) were miles better than expected, including Ait ben Haddou, Dades valley, Valley of the roses! Hotel rooms exceptionally spacious with good food and friendly hosts who treated us to an evening of Berber drumming. The desert itself was an excellent experience - around 1 hour camel ride from the road (which is plenty as it gets sore!) Evening dinner in the desert followed by more drumming. As we were there in July, desert was very hot even overnight. We then woke up at 5am to trek back on the camels as the sun rose - starting in the dark was so exciting, although sadly a combination of dust/cloud/wind/full moon meant the stars and sunrise were not as spectacularly as they can be (just bad luck!) The final day we drove back, stopping in Ouarzazate for a local restaurant (away from tourist areas) where food amazing and cheap. Our greatest thanks go to Mohamed, who made every aspect of the tour as good as it could be - his choice of stops, suggestions on where to go, and intervening to make sure we didn’t buy fake rubbish or get hassled by anyone made for a really valuable experience. For example, he took us to an unmarked berber rug shop where we were given all sorts of information with no pressure to buy anything - with a mint tea of course. Once in a lifetime trip - and this one has loads that adds to the experience (air con, Mohamed)
