6:00am: You will be Picked up from your hotel in Kandy and transferred by tuk tuk for a bird watching and nature trekking tour at Udawatta Kele sanctuary. TukTuk is a very typical form of public transport, part of the everyday street scene. On the TukTuk, you can sit and stretch out, protected from the sun, and rain, and with a great breeze.
Before starting the trekking, you will be well informed by your Nature guide regarding the trail and the forest reserve. Udawatte Kele sanctuary houses to varieties of birds like yellow fronted barbet, Layards Parakeet, Spot bellied eagle owl, Sri Lankan hanging parrot, Green fronted leaf bird, and native three-toed Kingfisher, & Sri Lanka hill myna, are some of them. The sanctuary is a good location for panoramic photographs of Kandy city and butterflies, mammals that come very close to you. Endemic animals like toque macaque, jackal, porcupine and mouse deer seems to be common. Obviously, 460 species of plants, especially lianas, Shrubs, herbs and small plants are survived in the jungle.
