A perfect way to get a great taste of the area. The wildlife sanctuary let us get acquainted with many animals native to Australia. We petted kangaroos and even a couple with joeys. Quaint Richmond was well worth the visit, stopping at the historic Catholic church and the arched bridge. Added surprises were a winery and a chocolate factory. Our guide was great...fun, knowledgeable and accommodating!
A pleasant day with an accommodating guide. Would have liked to have heard a little more history of the region as we drove round, but then it was a wildlife tour.
Was a little surprised that this sanctuary was quite small compared to a few others I have visited in Australia. You are done in about half an hour as the sanctuary is basically a roundabout you can feed the kangaroos here and also donate money for a pouch for wombat babies and then take a pic with them. Richmond was boring. It was also quite a small town and the shops were rather touristy, not exactly the quaint town shops that I had been hoping to see.
Theresa was wonderful! She was prompt in picking us up and acted as our tour guide at Bonorong. She tailored the day to what we wanted and found us a great little place for lunch. The only minor issue we had was that her car was a bit small for my husband. Be sure to request her full sized car.
I had a really great time on this tour with Theresa. I had booked a private tour for two, but my travel-mate was sick so it was just her and I. She was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and took pictures for me since I was otherwise solo! I was able to pet a wombat and feed kangaroos at Bonorong, we had a leisurely lunch in Richmond and saw the local historical sights. The cheese tasting was a wonderful treat and we completed the day by going up to Rosny Lookout. Highly recommended.
Our personal guide was exceptional, much better riding in a smaller bus than the bigger ones, got more time at our stops
The best thing about this tour was our very own, personal, tour-guide, Theresa. She was very friendly and knowledgable. I would highly recommended this tour and tour company, Personalised Tasmanian Tours to all travellers especially cruise ship travellers and those with a disability. Not only did this tour include some of Hobart's best attractions, I was also able to customise the tour adding a stopover at the Botantical Gardens for a small additional cost. Theresa also made sure we arrived back at the cruise ship terminal on time. I would highly recommend this tour for both first-time and seasoned travellers. Not only do you get to pat a wombat and a koala, you can also hand-feed kangaroos, see the wonderful history of Richmond and the Wicked Cheese Co. cheese is to die for. This was a great tour made even better by a truly fantastic tour-guide, Theresa.
