Absolutely fantastic local guide Yordan! We took half of the tour on foot and then we used the vehicle. If you ask me what i prefer, it depends - in our case it started to rain and we needed it as we had it in the booking. Super reccommending this operator! We made a lot of tours in Bulgaria with VisitBulgariaOn and all of them delivered great quality and value for money.

Of course there were some interesting buildings but nothing super spectacular. Lots of walking (almost five miles all in). The literature indicated a private air conditioned vehicle would be utilized with a number of drivebys and a number of stops but no vehicle showed up for us and the operator said it was because our hotel was near city center. We would not have booked this tour if we knew it would be a walking tour for 4 hours. The guide was pleasant and knowledgeable so no complaint there, its all on the operator. Some of the ancient ruins were interesting but government and university buildings were not so interesting.

Stoyan is an amazing guide, knows a lot about the history of Bulgaria and the buildings in the central city. Very candid in his conversations which we truly appreciated. We had a very short window in which we wanted to get this same day trip arranged at a time which worked for us based on other commitments later in the evening. What a stupendous job done by the tour company! We highly recommend this tour if you have a limited time and you want to explore Sofia. Thorough professionals and meticulous planning. Five stars all the way!

This was an awesome walking tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and we were able to learn a lot of history about the city and Bulgaria. The terrain was flat but it was awesome to see parts of ancient Bulgaria under the city.

We reserved a private day tour of Sofia that combined a few of the elements of multiple other tours. Our guide was Stoyan, and he was fantastic. We do a lot of history research, and so some of our questions were quite in-depth - Stoyan was able to answer all of them. He also took us into a few sites that were not on our list, but looked very interesting when we walked by, such as the synagogue, and if asked any questions he did not know the answer for, he would call someone who *did* know and ask.

I had a private city tour: only me and the tourist guide. Well, ofcourse it cost a bit more but now I know much more about Sofia history and even more about Bulgarians 😁
