We can’t say enough great things about Steven and this tour. The countryside is so beautiful and Steven was an amazing tour guide who is so knowledgeable about the area and history (as well as friendly, personable, kind, funny - just a great guy). He made this tour uniquely personal to our interests and we will definitely be seeing him again in the future. He made us feel at ease and very welcome. I CAN’T RECOMMEND THIS TOUR ENOUGH. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Steven was waiting for us when we exited elevator! Never felt like we were being rushed. Accommodated my limited walking ability. VERY knowledgeable; learned a lot. We went to places that other tours tend to go to BUT somehow we never had them around us. Because it was just us, Steven took us to places that tour groups are not allowed. Very private, intimate feeling tour. Like a friend was showing us around, a friend who was very familiar with the various areas. Learned a lot.

This visit to the Kinderdijk array of windmills and to Rotterdam, guided by Steve Attetsol, was first rate…. Visiting Kinderdijk or Zaandam Schans is vital to understanding this remarkable country and Steve’s knowledge of his country and his insights added to the experience. Returning via Rotterdam gave an introduction to a very different Dutch city… quite unlike Amsterdam.

Best day! Steve was very knowledgeable and we had a great time. Highly recommended. It was our best day in Amsterdam and we can’t wait to book another tour with him.

I would highly recommend this tour. Steve gave us more in our tour than we could ask for. We got the story behind the story. Not only did we get to enjoy the countryside of the Netherlands - we learned about the history of how it was developed, etc. We drove by the home that Anne frank lived in before going into hiding, her bookstore then took a day trip to Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam, Markem. Steve was amazing. We spent about 9 hours with him. He took us to places away from the tourists - we had a delightful lunch and our 17 year old DEVOURED the smoked eel. THANK you Steve for a trip we will treasure for a lifetime.

Huge thank you to Steve Attersol, our guide for a phenomenal 9-hour private tour today! From Amsterdam to the Zaanse Schanse windmills and clog making, to a cheese farm in Edam, to lunch in Monnikendam, to shopping in Volendam, to picture-perfect Marken…Steve made sure the five of us saw, tasted, and experienced the very best of Northern Holland! Thanks for an absolutely fascinating tour.

We had the pleasure of traveling with Steve for not only one day- but two! First found Private Day Tours Amsterdam from a quick google search and after a look at the website, prices, and trip advisor we called and booked the Dutch Countryside & Windmills Tour for the following day. The website was not showing availability but upon calling we were delighted to find that it was in fact available so be sure to call and check if showing no availability. We started our day visiting Zaanse Schanns and Steve was fantastic. He took us to all the highlights and routes that avoided the tourist crowd but still providing the full experience. He is so knowledgeable and we had a great time exploring the inside and climbing up and into the windmill with him. Even though it was paid entry Steve still accompanied us and it was so nice to have him and is expansive knowledge there with us- made us appreciate the experience that much more and of course helped us get some great photos we wouldn’t have been able to ourselves! From there we went to a local Dairy to enjoy some delicious cheese followed by lunch in Volendam at a local restaurant that specialized in Eel, a local delicacy and it did not disappoint. Ventured around the fishing village of Volendam and then to Monnickendam before heading back to Amsterdam. The best part of the day is that it was entirely customizable and Steve encouraged it to be so. Would highly recommend Private Day Tours Amsterdam over and over again as we did ourselves and were so excited Steve was available the following day for a spontaneous trip to Goethoorn. Be sure to look up (insert co name here) when in Amsterdam for a fantastic tour, service, and an experience you will never forget!

Our guide Steve was one of the best guides we have ever had. He continually asked us what was important to us to see and learn about so he could customize the day to our desires. Having been a guide for several years, he was very knowledgeable about the area and its history and was very. He is very personable and speaks excellent English. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this trip and this guide.

Steve is an excellent guide. We learned a lot about the Netherlands and the places we went to. He customized the trip to suit our needs/taste. For example, he noticed that my niece was fond of cows so he took us to the cheese farm that tended them. In Volendam, we had lunch at a lake-side restaurant that was more frequented by locals than tourists. A truly one-of-a-kind experience!
