Well pick you up at your Ho chi minh city hotel in the early morning, and youll travel with your English-speaking guide to the Cu chi tunnels. The drive is around 60 km.
At Cu Chi youll be shown a documentary film about the tunnels and learn how the locals made bamboo traps, rice-paper and rice-wine. Youll then have the opportunity to explore the web of underground tunnels dug by Vietnamese resistance fighters.
After exploring the tunnels, well drive to My Tho. This is one of the provinces that comprise the Mekong Delta area. Well cruise by boat along the upper Mekong through a region with islands named after 4 animals that appear in Buddhist writings Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Turtle. On this part of the tour youll observe some of the activities of regional Vietnamese daily life and appreciate how life here depends on the River.
Well then take you on a trip by rowboat along the small waterways. Youll see the agricultural richness of the delta region in its fruit orchards, coconut groves and bee-keeping farms. Well stop so you can enjoy honey tea, seasonal fruit, fresh coconut candy and southern Vietnamese folk music.
At the end of our tour well drive back to Ho chi minh city and drop you off at your hotel at around 18:00.

The tour was well organized but the best part was my guide. From the first greeting to the good bye Phong kept his enthusiasm. He even arrange a happy birthday song for me!

Our tour guide (Kim) was quiet and didn’t provide a lot of information/history/explanation during the day. It felt like we missed out on a lot of stuff because there wouldn’t be background information from him. I sometimes tried to listen to other guides who were nearby for their explanation. For the price, we felt cheated for the lack of information we received.

Tien (Tony) was our guide for the day. He was exceptionally knowledgable of the Vietnamese history. Answered all our questions and had random fun facts that he threw around when we passed certain areas. The tour was full on with plenty to do and see. Food was awesome! Great experience overall. We would definitely recommend this.

Attended this tour with children and grandchildren unfortunately I was not feeling particularly well which probably jaded my view slightly. The guide was very knowledgeable and her english very easy to understand. The lunch provided at Cu Chi was outstanding. We did feel that we were rushed a bit and not given opportunity to browse at small markets we walked passed even though we arrived home 1 hour early. The Mekong Delta canoe ride was an experience in itself as the rain was torrential. Would not recommend this tour if unsteady on feet due to climbing in and out of canoe and boat.

We had a very full and really interesting day out with our guide Phong who was very informative and had excellent English! Leaving HCMC early and getting to the Cu Chi Tunnels first meant we didn't have to wait and it was apparently cooler!! Enjoyed a huge lunch and guided tour around the Mekong Delta in the afternoon. Really worthwhile day, well planned and enjoyable way to see it!

From first contact, Elegant Travel were brilliant at responding to emails and organising this trip... it was very confidence-inspiring when not yet even in Vietnam! As it is a private tour the staff were happy to adjust a few details of the trip when requested. On the day everything ran like clockwork. Mr Bao and his driver collected me from my hotel and the early start meant we got to visit Cu Chi before the hordes arrived... well worth the early start. Cu Chi is astonishing and a must-see when in HCMC. In the afternoon there was a delicious lunch and an efficient series of stops on the Mekong. Chatting to the locals and seeing the river was the most interesting part. Local singers who popped up seemed slightly awkward and I felt very sorry for the horse who seemed so hot in the sun; I could have done without these two parts and you could probably ask to skip them. Other than that, the tour was excellent and Mr Bao was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I was so impressed by the time-keeping, as I arrived back at the hotel bang on time - pretty amazing given the distances covered. Thank you so much, Elegant Travel.

Wow! What a day! It was only the two of us on the tour and no crowds in sight. Definitely worth the money.

The guide was very knowledgable on the Chu Chi tunnels and gave us excellent account of the history and what life was like in the American/Vietnam War. . His english and diction was very good.
The Mekon Delta portion afternoon had to many 'sales' elements and in hindsight was too short at a 1/2 day. Overall we had a very good trip and enjoyed it emmensely.I would recommend a full day tour of Mekon Dekon Delta. 1/2 day for Chu Chi tunnels is sufficient.
