Tour Details: Leave your accommodation in Rome in the morning, and hop inside your private vehicle with a professional English-speaking driver. On the way your driver will offer to you a Buffalo Mozzarella tasting in a very typical family farm in the Capua town countryside, the area is considered the fatherland of the Italian Buffalo Mozzarella! You will take pictures of the buffaloes too! Vesuvius Crater (tickets and alpine guide included): After lunch your driver will transport you to Mount vesuvius, where you will be able to visit the volcano, which reaches an altitude of 4,203-feet (1,281-meters). From there the crater can be reached on foot by using a path that is .75-miles (1,200-meters) long that takes you to the summit of the volcano. Lunch included: Stop for lunch (included) at a local restaurant and winery on the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius where you will have a great experience sampling their unique wines born in the shadow of the volcano. 2 hours Pompeii Ruins (tickets and local licensed guide included): Visiting Pompeii is not like a museum , is as live again in an ancient roman commercial town of 3 Km. Buildings, temples, shops catched in the time of the eruption. Pompeii was an ancient Roman town near modern Naples, where the common people went on holidays at the time of the ancient Rome. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many ancient towns in the surrounding area, was mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. At the end of your tour the driver will take you back to your accommodation in Rome. ------------------------ The Restaurant: You will stop for lunch in a local restaurant/winery on the slopes of the volcano: it is located between Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius' volcanic crater in Italy's Vesuvius National Park, approximately 2 miles (3 kilometers) from Pompeii. The winery is perfectly located for a stop during a day trip of Pompeii and the volcanic crater on top of Mount Vesuvius. All guests visiting the winery are welcome to stay for an "Italian-style" tasting, held on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. Tasting menu includes: Antipasto appetizer with local products: salami, provolone cheese, 'casatiello' (a savory bread), and bruschetta with heirloom Piennolo tomatoes on bread baked in a wood-burning oven, paired with Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco DOP (100% Caprettone), Rosato (100% Piedirosso), and Rosso (100% Piedirosso). Spaghetti made with durum wheat flour and tossed with a sauce made from heirloom Piennolo tomatoes and basil, paired with Lacryma Christi Riserva (80% Piedirosso and 20% Aglianico, aged in French oak barrels for 18 - 24 months). Pastiera Napolitana, a traditional dessert featuring sweetened ricotta, candied fruit, and boiled wheat berries, paired with Capafresca Spumante Rosato (100% Aglianico) and Acquavite di Albicocche del Vesuvio, an apricot distillate.

This was a very memorable day for our family. I was worried that I had spent too much money on this tour but after pricing things out separately it was a fair deal.
The day was fabulous! Our driver was prompt and thoughtful. We had a mozzarella tasting at a dairy. Delicious and unique. Kevin did a terrific job getting us around through narrow streets and up the volcano where there were lots of cars and chaos. We hiked up the volcano on a beautiful day with fabulous views. The lunch and wine tasting was delicious and it is my second time at cantina del Vesuvius. Great lunch! We had a wonderful tour of Pompeii wit Eduardo. Very fun and informative. My children who are in their twenties thought that this day was the best part of our trip.
Thank-you for a great memory!
