Know More about this tour

Begin the tour with a pickup from your hotel, then head to the Krusedol monastery. Built in the 16th century, it was considered one of the most beautiful monasteries of Fruska Gora. Relics from members of the holy family Brankovic are placed inside of the church. Many important people are buried there as well, such as two Serbian patriarchs and King Milan Obrenovic.

Then, travel to Grgeteg monastery, which is also an endowment of the last Serbian medieval royal family, Brankovic. This 15th century monastery was deserted and destroyed during WWII. For a long time, it was nothing but a ruin, but it was restored recently, standing today as a peaceful and spiritual place, isolated from main roads and surrounded by beautiful nature.

From Grgeteg, drive directly to Sremski Karlovci to walk around the center and see the Four Lions Fountain, the Treasury of Patriarchy residence and St. Nicolas orthodox cathedral.

Once sightseeing is finished, your guide will take you to a local a family wine cellar for wine tasting and lunch.

Afterwards, the tour returns to Belgrade for drop-off at your hotel.

This was the first of 3 tours that we took recently with Andrija Vatović and Serbian Private Tours. My first impulse is to say that this was the very BEST day - but that isn't quite fair to the other tours - which were each equally wonderful in their own ways. This trip was our first real introduction to Serbia's monasteries, and the place they hold within Serbian culture - so it was eye-opening in many ways. The churches themselves are absolutely peaceful and so beautiful, and the tradition of fresco painting is an absolute treasure - there is so much beauty that it's impossible to take it all in. Our visit to Petrovaradin Fortress was also a great opportunity to begin to understand more of the political history of the area. However, the treat that put this day over the top was our lunch-time visit with Dragan at Podrum Miljević. Dragan has a small winery and pairs his wines with an amazing traditional lunch. I don't believe I will ever enjoy a lunch more than that day - and SO delicious! (Who knew I would come home googling recipes for nettle soup?!?) His wines are carefully crafted and absolutely delicious. I wish I had had more room in my suitcase to bring home more! I could envision a repeat trip JUST for this wonderful experience. Thank you, Dragan! "Andrew" is an incredibly knowledgeable guide and was able to share so much about the construction of the monasteries, the fortress and all of their places in Serbian history. He is an excellent teacher, explaining the connections and contradictions that have derived from centuries of challenge and conflict. We were incredibly lucky to have 3 days of tours with him on our recent visit to Belgrade, and still feel that we only scratched the surface of what he knows about the country and region's history. Hope to have the chance to reacquaint in the future for more conversations!

Great experience with a nice and helpful guide. Despite the cold weather and the rain we managed to see everything and understand a lot about Serbian History and culture! Thank you Andrija!!!

To begin, I found Serbian Private Tours (SPT) website informative and helpful. My email communications with Miljan from SPT was prompt, clear and helpful. I requested a slight modification to the tour itinerary to include stops at Petrovaradin and Novi Sad. There was no problem with personalizing the tour and no change in price. Booking and paying for the tour online was easy and quick. This was a refreshing change from many tourist activities in this part of the world. The tour itself was fascinating. Miljan has an incredible knowledge of the very complicated history of Serbia. He is interesting, personable, and easy to spend an entire day with. His English is perfect. The highlight of the day was the late lunch organized by SPT at a winery were we were treated to Rakija, 3 kinds of wine, and traditional Serbian food, ALL homemade by Dragan, the wonderful host.

We had a great tour with our guide Andrija Vatović who was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about all the places we visited. The lunch and wine tasting were superb as well. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who would like to get to know this beautiful area.

We were so glad that we chose Serbian Private Tours and were lucky to have Vlad as our tour guide. Booking for the first time from Canada, I was uncertain what to expect. SPT exceeded our expectations. Vlad was knowledgeable and yet did not overwhelm with too many facts. Our group was a mix of younger and older and Serbian and Canadian speakers. Everyone felt involved. I won't forget our cozy lunch at the winery just outside Fruska Gora. Our host supplied more than we expected for lunch and drinks, and in the best atmosphere! Would highly recommend and use the services again.

We had a perfect day with our guide Vlada. We were a mixed Serbian-Spanish group and the whole experience rase high above all our expectations. Vlada was so kind and knowledgeable and made this family trip a perfect one. We wanted to include Novi Sad and Petrovaradin to the tour, and they made some adjustments to make it work. The highlight of the trip was the lunch at a family wine cellar Podrum Miljevic. Our host Dragan was another example of true warmth and kindness. All in all, a perfect day thanks to "Serbian private tours" crew.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our host Vlada was very informative and knew a lot about the history and culture of the local area. We really appreciated his help and he went out of his way to give us more information when we asked about hiking in the area. Serbian Private Tours provided nice little personalized touches that made the experience extra special. We would highly recommend booking a tour with them.

Esperamos repetir!
