  • On December 3, 2017 the tourguide Mr Fuad led us to visit a carpet Merchant Chez Lahna, there I bought a berber carpet to be shipped to my friend in Germany, till now not arrived in Germany. Many attempts to contact the merchant trough phone calls failed, email were bounced back. So I was cheated.

  • spent too much time in shops

  • Marrakech was wonderful, the logistics of the trip an an unwanted 45 minute stop at a rug seller not so much. We were met on time at our hotel by a pleasant driver who spoke zero English. After about 20 minutes in the car, with lots of helo from siri translating into french, we figured out that we were meeting our guide in Marrakech.
Issam, our guide in Marrakech, was great--pleasant and knowledgable. After 2 hours or so, he turned us over to another guide, whose name I don't recall. The second guide took us through the market area, and was also pleasant and knowledgable. Things went south when the second guide took us to a rug dealer, where we spent 45 minutes getting a semi-hard sell on rugs. The other members of the group and I made it clear we weren't interested in buying, but that didn't deter the process. My wife was really ticked off, and the sales pitch negatively affected our overall view of the tour. My exact thoughts were that I hadn't paid 300 to endure this.
Suggestions: better communication before the tour to avoid the confusion of who the guide would be, and warn the customer that there would be a sales pitch, and make it optional.
