Know More about this tour

The Szchenyi Spa (also known as Szchenyi Baths), Budapests largest and warmest thermal spa, boasts numerous indoor and outdoor pools including 15 indoor spring-fed baths. Built in a beautiful neo-Baroque style in 1913 and completed in 1927, the spa is located in the City Park opposite the City Circus.

Skip the main entrance line and head to the rear entrance, where an English-speaking host will greet you. From here, gain access to your own changing cabin and get ready to pamper yourself at this amazing complex.

Choose from 18 pools of varying temperature, filled with water from thermal springs. A natural temperature of 170 degrees Fahrenheit (77 Celsius), the thermal water is cooled down to different temperatures at the spa and contains minerals like calcium and magnesium, which are said to be good for your joints! Check out the large outdoor swimming pool with a temperature of 84 F (27 C); relieve sore muscles in a warm pool with jets; or watch men play chess in a steaming pool of 106 F (38 C).

Inside, under several beautiful domes, soak in more hot pools or adjacent steam rooms and saunas. When youre warm enough, take a cold plunge or enjoy a shower with your included Szchenyi Spa gift of shampoo and shower gel. If you choose the upgrade option, relax with a 20-minute aromatherapy massage. Feel free to stay as long as youd like, up until closing time.

  • We enjoyed a relaxing morning at the Spa. We had the I love Spa package which included flip flops, towel, bottle of water, shower gel. However I would recommend taking an additional towel if possible. If you want to use the laned pool for swimming remember you need to wear a hat. The outdoor hot pool was definitely the best part, but there are a number of indoor pools to explore. Food is available to purchase and not too overpriced. Although there was not a queue when we arrived I was still pleased we had prepaid. The private entrance actually means you go in the front entrance and once inside there is a separate desk for those who prepaid.

  • This was a great experience and well worth the money!

  • This place is massive, very old that makes it more interesting, massage was basic, would like to be there summer when outside pools are open.

  • We really enjoyed this was highlight of our tour. Soaking in hot spring baths whilst it's snowing was a real experience. I had booked my husband a massage as a treat and even though he left in plenty of time it was very confusing to find the massage area and he actually missed a bit of his treatment so make sure you know where you're going if you book this additional service. he said massage was great though!

  • This place is definitely worth the cash. Got my personal locker, and sat in the pool for six hours. Made my cold go away in one afternoon. 100 worth it.

  • The spa is incredible and the pass allowed me easy entry. I wish it had included a towel, but other than that it was great

  • I booked this as it was a private entrance, so to avoid the queues really. However once we collected our tickets from the private entrance desk, we then had to go and queue with the general public who were buying tickets on the door, for 2 hours to get in. The booking was pointless. The baths were OK, not great but OK to experience but the whole booking ahead with the private entrance thing.... don't bother!!

  • This was an interesting experience, but not all that pleasant. The building is old, the changing cabins are small and everything seems a bit chaotic there. Some might enjoy this, but for us, it was more like soaking in a giant warm pool with 300 strangers...

  • Amazing experience
