Know More about this tour

The Szchenyi Spa (also known as Szchenyi Baths), Budapests largest and warmest thermal spa, boasts numerous indoor and outdoor pools including 15 indoor spring-fed baths. Built in a beautiful neo-Baroque style in 1913 and completed in 1927, the spa is located in the City Park opposite the City Circus.

Skip the main entrance line and head to the rear entrance, where an English-speaking host will greet you. From here, gain access to your own changing cabin and get ready to pamper yourself at this amazing complex.

Choose from 18 pools of varying temperature, filled with water from thermal springs. A natural temperature of 170 degrees Fahrenheit (77 Celsius), the thermal water is cooled down to different temperatures at the spa and contains minerals like calcium and magnesium, which are said to be good for your joints! Check out the large outdoor swimming pool with a temperature of 84 F (27 C); relieve sore muscles in a warm pool with jets; or watch men play chess in a steaming pool of 106 F (38 C).

Inside, under several beautiful domes, soak in more hot pools or adjacent steam rooms and saunas. When youre warm enough, take a cold plunge or enjoy a shower with your included Szchenyi Spa gift of shampoo and shower gel. If you choose the upgrade option, relax with a 20-minute aromatherapy massage. Feel free to stay as long as youd like, up until closing time.

  • Despite what was promised, there was no english speaking guide to guide us to our cabin. Please note, you also have to pay for a robe and a towel, spa is very full of people and skipping the queue makes hardly any difference as there is a queue for the skip the queue line. Cheaper to just pay entry fee on arrival as you are unlikely to spend the full day there - it is actually recommended by the spa to only spend 20 minutes in the spa, therefore very unnecessary to pay for entire day - much more sensible and cheap to pay on arrival.

  • This was really relaxing as our last day in Budapest. We expected the water to be warmer than it was but it was still nice.

  • Amazing experience! If you are into thermal baths, then you would enjoy this one. There is a lot of people especially in the outdoor pools but we didn't mind the crowds at all. We didn't stay that long anyway. It was too cold we went at the end of November and after about an hour we were ready to leave. We were not interested in going to the indoor baths either. We first had the massage which was okay but we needed it after walking around in Budapest for days. Going to the changing rooms was a bit confusing and maze-like and quite far from the entrance to the pools. The lines to rent a towel etc, are also long so best if you bring your own. Also bring your own flip-flops and cover up. The building itself is impressive though. I wish I had more time to explore all its nooks and crannies.

  • Outdoor pool 2no. , this is where we spent most of our time, they are huge and very popular. There are lots more Indoor pools but they are a bit smelly.

  • We loved this spa.... all the healing waters, the different temperatures and the 20 min massage for 10!!! Would definatly recommend!

  • Awesome time here. Go during the week and earlier in the day when the crowds are not as intense. Very relaxing place to spend a few hours.

  • The outdoor pool is good fun but the rest of the spa seems to be a bit dirty/dated.

  • Fantastic but bring flip flops

  • We had an amazing 3 hours here and good have stayed longer but had to be somewhere else. very well run, great pools lots of them all sizes, the water temp about 70/80 f . you can hire towels on site but at a cost, take your own even from your hotel if you have to .Bit hard to find the right entrance that takes vouchers, go right round the building to the other side it is a large building!
will book again when back in Budapest.
