Penny was a fantastic tour guide. On the way to the warriors she gave a great overview of the history and culture of China. She was open, friendly, enthusiastic and clearly enjoys her job. We spent two and a half hours at the warriors where she struck the perfect balance between giving us information and letting us enjoy the site for ourselves. We even got to have our photo taken with one of the two remaining farmers who discovered the warriors in 1974. Penny chose an excellent restaurant for lunch and selected a delicious cross-section of dishes. Thank you Penny!

Sunday was a very knowledgeable guide. She was full of information for us as we visited the City Wall and the Terracotta Warriors. She took us to a fantastic restaurant for lunch and made sure that we had the local food - noodles. We to a great feel for the culture and the city. The Terracotta Warriors are amazing too. We highly recommend Sunday!

Jenna did an excellent job showing our group (6 guys in mid-twenties from the U.S.) around the Terra-Cotta warriors. She presented all the information clearly, with excellent command of English, and was able to answer all of our questions. During the bus ride to the site, she provided an excellent overview of Chinese history, and shared her personal story and life in China. In the middle of the day, our group received a message that unrelated to the tour, our flight the next day was cancelled. Jenna extremely helpful, calling Air China on our behalf and rebooking all of our flight itineraries.

Sunday did an awesome job giving us a tour of the Terra Cotta Warriors. She is full of knowledge. She was patient with my two kiddos (1 year old and 6 year old). I had to stop a couple of times to change diapers and cater to my daughters needs. Sunday is such a sweet person. She even took us to a kid friendly local restaurant that is by far the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. We are extremely thankful to have had such an amazing experience in Xian, China.

Catherine Lu tours provides exceptional professional tours. We were able to work with Jenn in the office to personalize our tour of Beijing and Xi’an. Jeremy in Beijing was very affable and knowledgeable. He made sure we saw everything we were interested in, and even suggested best times to go so as to avoid crowds. Example: on the Great Wall we were there first thing in the morning, and it was uncrowned — fantastic. The local lunches we did each day were wonderful too. In Xi’an, Dodo was also wonderful — excellent command of the English language and a real enthusiasm for her home town! The restaurant — in operation for over 300 years (same family) was amazing. The drivers (we had several) were wonderful, excellent communicators even tho they were not English speaking. It was a great trip.

Vivian was great! She knows a lot of history! Her English is very good. We started off with the terrocota warriors then went to a local restaurant to have lunch which was delicious and then went to the city wall for a bike ride. Lastly we went to the Muslim street which has sooo many food stands if you’re a foodie you’ll love it! We also had a personal driver that took us around. I booked last minute and they answered right away via email they were super helpful p.s. vivan is a great photographer too!
