I had an amazing day out in Shanghai with Lilly. At first, I was worried about the expense of hiring a private guide when I usually just consult guide books and make my own way. But Shanghai is such a vast city and I really wanted to make every minute matter. It turned out to be the best money I spent on my entire two week trip to China and Singapore. I went for a tour with our own driver and we covered everything I wanted to see. We went to the fabric market, the spectacles market, had a lovely walk through an older part of the city, a great lunch and went to the jade market. Lilly was happy to haggle for me, but I really wanted to learn. She gave me some great tips, helped when I needed it, and by the end of the day I was bargaining like a professional - it was great fun and it enhanced the rest of my trip. I booked a 4 hour shopping trip with Sunny and had an extremely positive experience. It was great to have someone that knew the right places to go, could navigate the bartering process and also lend an unbiased point of view. I was able to buy prescription eye glasses and prescription sunglasses with frames and lenses at a substantially lower price than in the US. I also purchased some pretty natural pearl pieces that were in stunning colors. A trip to the fake market resulted in a great pair of sneakers for my son and a wallet for my husband. There are lots of ladies handbags but none that met my personal bar. Sunny was a great resource because I had limited time. I would highly recommend!

I booked this for shopping and to practice my Mandarin in bargaining for Chinese goods to bring back to the States with me; It surely didn't disappoint! Have you wanted to go to the South Bund Fabric Market, but did not know where to even start, given its three floors crammed with fabric merchants and tailors? We did, but we needed help - big time! And, Sunny saved the day. She expertly led us through all three floors, with its nooks and crannies, and pointed out specifically where we should get our shirts made, skirts made, suits made, coats made, etc. She has taken her clients there before, and she has had things made there herself, so she knows who does the best job , and for the best price. She will even help negotiate for you, and she drives a hard bargain! We were so grateful t her for her expertise and support through the process.
