Know More about this tour

First, you will visit to a famous Batu Caves, site of Hindu temple and shrine located in Gombak, Selangor. It is a limestone hill which is made up of a series of caves and cave temples. You will see thousands of worshipers and tourist here especially during the annual Hindu festival, Thaipusam. The hike up the tall and lengthy stairs can be tiring (272 steps), but you will be amazed with the stunning skyline of Kuala Lumpur once you reach the top.You will see monkeys frolic around the caves and they would pester you if they know you have food with you. Please remember to prepare more drinking water, sunscreen, long pants and closed bag.
We then move on to National Mosque (Masjid Negara) is a national mosque in Malaysia that situated close to the bird park and the Islamic museum. This uniquely designed mosque embodies a contemporary expression of traditional Islamic art, calligraphy and ornamentation. You cannot enter the prayer room itself but you can walk around the inner part of the mosque and admire the architecture. The staff will provide you with appropriate dress to wear for both male and female.
Next, we proceed to Thean Hou Temple, this 6-tiered Buddhist temple is also known as the Temple of the Goddess of Heaven, who is said to protect fishermen. This gorgeous temple is a work of art itself. Beautifully detailed in its sculpting and engraving of Chinese dragons and phoenixes and other mystical animals of Chinese inspiration on its beams, balustrades, ceiling, roofs, eaves and cornices. Besides her, there is also another two primary deities in the main temple which is the Goddess Shui Wei Sheng Niang to her left and the Goddess of Mercy to her right.
You will be taken to one of the Gurdwara around Kuala Lumpur to know about Sikhism.
Continue to China Town to enter the site of dozens of restaurants and food stalls tended by Chinese, Indian, Malay and Bangladeshi traders. Watch as they serve up local favorites, such as curry noodles, Hokkien mee (a Fujian noodle dish), ikan bakar .(barbecued fish) and asam laksa (a sour, fish and tamarind-based soup).

This was basically a car service so if you feel comfortable taking public transportation you can save some money. But the money was well worth the convenience. The driver picked us up and took us where we wanted to go including the recommended sites. Our driver customized the route and stops for us. He also took us to a couple of final street markets we asked to visit, and this was after our tour was supposed to come to an end. Our driver was outstanding and I highly recommend!

We had a very enjoyable time visiting Batu Caves, the National Mosque, Thean Hou temple and Little India. Mr Karthi was most informative, and full of interesting facts about the the sights and landmarks of KL. He was very prompt, friendly and just as importantly, a good and safe driver. I thoroughly recommend this tour, especially when guided by Mr Karthi.

The tour was alright, but I didn't actually get given much information about the places I was visiting. It was more like hiring a taxi driver to take me from place to place. The driver was nice, but he just drove me to one place for 30 minutes or so, waited in the car and then drove me to the next one. I have done a lot of tours and prefer something interactive where I learn a bit about the different places. It was alright if you are happy to have the equivalent of a driver.

Some comments about whether this is a guided tour or not. It isn’t. But it shouldn’t be. Fouzi, my driver, knew the history and was a great driver and guide in one. Would you expect every person to go walk up 272 steps every time? You can enjoy the sights and it’s entirely possible to enjoy without someone holding your hand. Men - no need for long pants. The mosque caters to those who don’t have the necessary covering. EXCELLENT time in KL
