Know More about this tour

Start a new day by visiting Ho Chi Minh Complex, an important place of pilgrimage. A traffic-free area of botanical gardens, monuments, memorials and pagodas, it’s usually crowded with groups of all ages, from all over the nation, who has come to pay their respects.
Continue to visit the Temple of Literature which was built in 1070 in honor of Confucius, his followers and Chu Van An, a moral figure in Vietnamese education.
You’ll be taken on a ride over to West Lake to enjoy the scenery before arriving at Ngu Xa village to try some different Hanoian versions of Pho and Banana salads and other traditional Vietnamese dishes.Lunch will be arranged at a local restaurant where locals love to eat every day.
After lunch, visit Tran Quoc pagoda, the oldest pagoda in the city, originally constructed in the sixth century during the reign of Emperor Ly Nam De, thus giving it an age of 1,400 years.
From here, drive to the crashed remnants of a B-52 “Flying Fortress” bomber that reached its final resting place in a small lake.
Continue to visit the Hilton Jail or Hoa Lo prison, a prison used by the French colonists in Vietnam for political prisoners, and later by North Vietnam for prisoners of war during the Vietnam War when it was sarcastically known to American prisoners of war as the "Hanoi Hilton".Finally, we wind down with a stop at a popular cafe to try the famous Vietnamese egg coffee and a top-secret desert which you only know when you travel with us! First invented in 1946, it’s a delicacy of whipped egg yolk with sugar and condensed milk for sweetness, and just a drop of vinegar to fluff the eggs. This is floated on top of a shot of espresso and dusted with cocoa powder. The end result is a coffee experience like no other, and a taste and texture reminiscent of tiramisu.

The guide, Tom was so attentive, fluent in English, very knowledgeable and charismatic. Love the historical stories told by him.

Tom was a fabulous guide. His English is great and he added stories of his childhood which added a lot to our understanding of Vietnam. We saw the Temple of Literature, Tran Quoc pagoda, Hoa Lo prison and had the original egg coffee. At each site, Tom made sure we understood the history and meaning of each site. We had a wonderful time! Thanks, Tom!

This tour was frustrating because the guide, Hero, was totally distracted the entire time. He was organizing two other tour groups on his phone the whole day and I felt like I was a second (third?) thought for the most part. He did get us into a VIP entrance at Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, which was a huge win and probably saved 45 minutes and I really appreciated that. And Hero took me to the place where Obama ate Bun Cha, which was delicious. I'm glad I visited the "Hanoi Hilton," but I was totally on my own as he was on the phone the whole time. Instead of going to the downed B-52, he wanted to go to the army museum, which turned out to mostly be closed for renovation. And the visit to the lake area was just one temple (which was definitely worth the visit). So, overall a mixed bag, but it probably would have been better with a more attentive guide. (Note: I was handed a review sheet at the end of the tour to fill out on the spot and return to the guide. Obviously, I was not going to say anything negative - this is a dumb practice on the tour operator's part and is not going to earn them honest feedback).

Excellent, comprehensive tour that packs many key sites into about 6 hours. Travel from one site to another is comfortable. Our guide, Duc, was outstanding - knowledgeable, friendly, and easily understood.

We had already seen the pagodas and Ho Chi Min Mausoleum and we had already had a cyclo ride in Hue, so we went to the Women’s Museum and Fine Arts Museum instead. Both were excellent. We enjoyed the Temple of Literature and the lacquerware demonstration. We also visited the Hanoi Hilton. The lunch was mostly very good. The guide and driver were very accommodating.

My husband and I had a wonderful time!!! Our tour guide was Nghia(Tom). He was amazing! He was very knowledgeable not just about the tour but outside the tour as well. He was very informative though out the tour. Gently speaking and very calm. He explained thoroughly the history of each destination, and took us a restaurant with delicious food. Last but not least, he took us to try egg coffee, and lord have mercy, it was so delicious!!! He also educated us what/where to buy and what not to buy. At first I was a little hesitate because of the price, but then it’s a private tour so my husband and I don’t have to be part of any group which we always preferred. Tom delivered wonderful knowledge and spoke very well English. Our driver was Mr. Hung, god bless his heart for driving during rush hour! For future customer/tourists, if you wan tot explore Hanoi to the very best, please book this tour and ask for your guide Nghia(Tom). You will not regret this excursion! Action speaks louder than words, please see pictures 😊

Tom is one of the best tours guides we have had on our travels to Vietnam. His excellent English, great enthusiasm and knowledge on Vietnamese culture made one of his private tours of the city of Hanoi. One of the most insightful and entertaining tours we have ever had. Throughout the day he brought us to several interesting locations throughout the city, such as Ho Chi Min's mausoleum where he clearly explained its importance and tied it to several important aspects of Vietnamese history and culture. One of the highlights of the day was when we got to eat. Tom took us to a relatively small local pho restaurant where we ate one of the best meals we have ever had paired with a unique local beer. Overall, greatly recommend him and his experiences.
