I have given this tour a 3 star rating, not because the Amber Fort and the other Jaipur sites aren't attractive or because of the organization overall, but because the tour operator felt this trip needed to include several commercial visits. Visits to a gemstone manufacturing site, an 'antiques' site and a place where they weave carpets. I had zero interest in purchasing any of this and made that very clear to those showcasing their products. Unfortunately the guide felt he needed to make a comment along the lines of, 'you come to my country and you don't purchase any of our products'...maybe a lesson in cultural savviness should be part of the education of some of these guides. Being Dutch, we don't force anyone that visits our country to smoke weed, even though it is very legal in our country... I would suggest you let the tour operator know beforehand, as they send you several texts, if you are not interested in any of these rather pushy commercial visits. Another thing to keep in mind for those considering to do this day trip from Delhi is that it is a veeeeeeery long drive and traffic is quite simply horrendous. This means you will be proposed an 04:30 pick-up and you will spend roughly 10hrs in a car. One last thing is the elephant ride they propose to do go to the Fort itself. It wasn't mentioned on the itinerary when you book, but it's proposed the day before or the morning you leave. I asked the tour operator, the driver and the guide whether the elephants are treated well, but all their answers were rather unconvincing. Maybe the question is a bit confrontational, but they should realize that if they offers these kind of activities people these days want to get some reassurance so they need to have their answers ready. I think Viator itself should perhaps play a bigger part in this as well.

We loved every moment. Car was modern and comfortable, the driver was great and ready to help in every way. Thumbs up for our fantastic guide Mr. Suresh too who had a way of explaining everything with a great sense of humor. Our longest day trip in India was actually the most pleasant of them all!

Great Trip. The drive from ND was a bit long, but the driver pulled over at a great rest spot for a break. Once in Jaipur we picked up the guide Singh. He was very knowledgeable of the area and we had a great time exploring the various sites. Lunch was provided, Indian food and it was awesome. My trip was in mid August still a bit warm so bring a hat. The area is rich in history. A great trip.
