Our family booked a private charter around St. Maarten for the day with Captain Sam. There were four adults and two children (10 and 13). We visited Creole Rock for some amazing snorkeling followed by a stop at the island of Tintamarre to snorkel and swim alongside sea turtles. Afterwards we went to Pinel Island for an amazing lunch including fresh lobster. Sam called ahead to ensure there was a table ready for us. On the way back Sam took us to several beautiful coves for some additional swimming in crystal clear waters. As we are a family of boaters this charter was a priority on our trip and it did not disappoint. We saw other charter boats with groups, but we are so glad we booked the private charter. We saw so much and we never felt rushed. Sam let us stay as long as we wanted at each location. I did a fair amount of research regarding private charters prior to our trip and I am confident that we made the right choice. I would highly recommend using Powerboat Adventures!
We had a great time with Sam, he has been a great guide during our St.Marteen visit. We had the chance to spend half day at sea, snorkel in seacluded spaces, visit several islands and swim with sea turtles. Definitely suggested for a day exploring St.Marteen's wonderful places.
Superbe journée avec Sam. Professionnalisme , bienveillance, pédagogie . Nous avons passé un merveilleux moment. Je recommande absolument. Nous reviendrons naviguer avec toi Sam. Merci infiniment
This was a great experience for our group, three adults and four kids (ages: 9, 12, 12, and 14). We did the 1/2 day tour and really wished we had done the whole day. Sam was great with the kids and very knowledgeable about Sint Maarten. Having the boat to ourselves was great and really worth every penny. Highly recommend this experience. The kids loved it and were so happy to be able to swim with the sea turtle. Thank you for a great day!
My husband and I chartered the boat for the day! We had such an amazing experience with Sam! We snorkeled at Creole Rock, swam with the sea turtles at Tintamarie, had lunch on Pinel Island and stopped at David’s hole! Such an amazing day! Would recommend this to anyone visiting the island!
My wife and I chartered a boat for a full day and Capitaine Sam made sure we had a truly memorable experience. After we told him what we like to do, Sam mapped out a day long adventure of snorkeling, site-seeing, swimming at beautiful beaches, and exploring secluded islands. Sam also set us up for a wonderful lunch at a beachfront restaurant on Isla de Pinel. Mahi and tuna ceviche, tuna on toast drizzled with truffle oil, and a banana infused rum drink to finish it off. 🤤 C’est magnifique! is the only way to describe the experience. - Especially since it’s probably the only phrase I remember from my two years of French class in high school. ;-) 10 out of 10. Thank you Sam!
Easily the best part of our cruise. Sam was flexible and knowledgeable. Having the boat to ourselves was worth every penny, especially when you saw how packed the communal charter boats were. We set the itinerary, with Sam’s helpful suggestions, and we set the pace. Do yourself a favor and do a price comparison between a communal charter and private, it’s more than worth the difference!
Horrible experience. I had this booked a few months in advance. We were arriving from a cruise ship. Arrived day of booking. Randomly found Sam who said he emailed me the night before saying the boat was broken. To this day, I have never received an email. Besides that, we were on a cruise with little to no wifi access. To make matters worse, he had absolutely nothing set up for me and my family of 6 people to do instead. He was going to just leave us there with nowhere to go, no idea what to do, etc. when we had had the day planned months in advance. There were tons of other tour operators and boats, etc. A good business would have gone out of their way to make sure our day wasn't ruined. I asked him what we should do. He said there was an island we could go to. I then had to ask how do we get there. He said by taxi. I said, how do we get a taxi. He said he could call a taxi for us. The taxi took 25 minutes to get to us. It was then a 25 minute ride to the dock. Then we had to take a ferry over to the island. By the time we got to the island, where there are only two restaurants, everything was already booked because it was well after 12pm by this point. We arrived into port at 10am. Every lounge chair and every restaurant table were booked. We had nowhere to go and our entire day in St. Maarten was ruined. A day we had booked for over a year, when we booked the cruise and a day we had planned out for two months. I completely understand that things happen and especially when dealing with mechanical things, things definitely can go wrong. But to not have a plan in place for when this does occur, to make sure guests are properly taken care and not left to just fend for themselves at the last minute, is imperative. We were in a foreign country with limited wifi and cell service. No opportunity to book something day of or research other options. Then the option Sam did give us, was terrible. I am sure it would have been a wonderful day if we had actually gotten to experience what we had booked. Instead it was a total disappointment. Just be aware, the boat could break down and you will be left high and dry. Literally.
Great private boat half-day charter. Sam was friendly and informative. Tools us to beautiful spots for snorkeling. We swam with turtles at Tintamarre island which was the highlight.
We loved this super chill boat tour with Sam! We snorkeled at Creole Rock and again at Tintamarre Island with the sea turtles. Don't miss out on lunch at Karibuni. Skip the group tour and let Sam be your guide. You won't regret it.
