If you want visit the Great Wall „off the beaten track“ this is your tour. Both sections (Gubeikou and Jinshanling) that we visited have been almost empty (during the week). Our guide Leo was fantastic, not only as a guide to the wall but as well as photographer bringing his own professional camera (he is also offering special visits to forbidden city with a focus on photography). We can really recommend booking your trip with Beijing Walking Tours.

Our tour guide, Adele, was amazing!! I highly recommend this tour (and her!) if you're looking for an authentic way to see the Great Wall. We experienced the almost empty "Wild Great Wall" at Gubeikou and enjoyed unprecedented views first before heading over to the restored wall at Jinshanling for sunset. Be prepared for a LOT of walking and some steep stairs. The sunset was stunning and we finished the day with a family-style meal at a local restaurant. The food was great too. 10/10 recommend!

It was amazing to be on a Great wall in this part of a year, without crowds, very mystic and romantic.Thank you for the photos that are great reminder of this special trip, thank you for the hospitality, great english and best lunch in China in a village of Gubeikou. What an amazing tour! First a short hike up to an unrestored section of the wall, then to the restored section for the sunset. In between we had a great lunch at a restaurant using all fresh ingredients. Our guide Leo is a passionate photographer and showed us the best places for pictures in each light! And he took some amazing shots of us, too!

Thank you Leo for an amazing tour of the Great Wall. How wonderful to see it in the snow. The locations were perfect with very few other people around. Also the photos you sent through after are fantastic and a great reminder of our special trip.

Visited with friends. Once in a lifetime experience, hiking to some of the (yet) less visited parts of the Great Wall. Apart from us, we saw 7 other visitors. Tony, our guide, who’s the only employee of his boss Leo (yes, the is a two man show) was the best guide - knowledgable, funny and speaks great English. Seeing the sun set over the Great Wall was spectacular. This tour should not be missed!

First time in Beijing, and I could not ask for more. We not only did a private Great Wall at Gubeikou and Jinshanliing Private Sunset Tour, but also the Beijing city Sightseeing Walking Tour the day before. Our guide Leo was absolutely wonderful - knowledgeable, funny, polite, kind, knew so much about history and tradition. He was also very patient explaining everything to us, as well as taking us to the best spots. Leo also is an excellent photographer, and took amazing photos with his professional camera of me and my boyfriend both at our wall and city tours. I will keep these photos and memories forever, and it is all thanks to Beijing Walking Tours. It would not have been the same without them! Highly recommended!

We booked a private tour. No extra charge although we spent more time back to Beijing City after visited the Great Wall. The driver, HeZhenDong was friendly and thoughtful person. He kept providing us drinks and food. The scenery was super beautiful. Worth to travel 2-3 hours from City to Jin Shan Ling the Great Wall.

I can definitely say that visit of the Great Wall of China was the most memorable experience during my Beijing trip in September-2019. I spent some time to check lots of information and choose the best tour for me. In the internet I found @beijingwalkingtour and their small group tours to 2 parts of the Wall - Jinshanling and Gubeikou. And this tour was AMAZING. We were a group of 6 + our guide and driver and we started from our hotel in the center of Beijing at 11 a.m. First, we drove approx. 2 hours to Jinshanling. There we spent several hours, and enjoyed views, made a lot of photos and listened interesting stories from our guide. Special thanks to Tony - he is amazing person and great guide who give us a lot of information and support us on our each step. After Jinshanling we drove to Gubeikou but before this we had a lunch break with traditional Chinese food in one of restaurants that in most cases you cannot visit without locals. The last point of our journey was sunset on the Great Wall with no people around. It’s so beautiful! Almost no people (only us), mountains, trees, old part of the Wall and shining sun. And we had some more time to enjoy views in twilight. We finished our trip around 21.30 in our hotel. Thank you @beijingwalkingtour that you help us in this memorable journey!

Leo was fantastic as a tour guide. We really enjoyed the tour and the best part was Leo helps you take photos on the Great Wall. Gubeikou was a "wild" section of the wall..some parts narrow and some parts are destroyed. Jinshanling was restored and the kind of Great Wall you'd expect in your mind - large steps..wide wall...a lot less people than the closer-to-Beijing parts of the wall. Highly recommended!
