We booked this experience on our last day in Beijing. Yu, our instructor, met us at the East Gate of the Temple of Heaven as specified, though we were a few minutes late due to the morning traffic. We had a couple of extra people, and he was easily able to accommodate this and negotiated a fair rate for them to join the class. We went to an area where many community members were practicing Tai Chi, and there was plenty to room for our class. Yu led us through a sequence, then proceeded to break down the sequence and explain the history and rationale of Tai Chi as well as some aspects of Chinese Medicine. It was a truly awesome experience, and my only regret is that I do not live in Beijing so that I could continue to study with Yu. I would highly recommend this experience.

While reading many reviews, it seemed as though we would be learning from Eric. This was not the case. He walked into the park with us and introduced us to some ladies who were already doing Tai Chi. He then left. The ladies doing Tai Chi were very nice, accomodating, encouraging and willing to take time in teaching us however, it did seem like we paid for an introduction considering some other tourists (taking photos) who hadn't paid were encouraged to join in with the group. All that being said, we enjoyed ourselves and were looked after which warrants a 3 star review. I would not rate Eric.

Eric was wonderful! He was very patient with me despite my complete incompetence, lol. He provided the constant guidance that I was looking for and increased my interest in Tai Chi through demonstrations and by discussing the benefits of Tai Chi. I am definitely signing up for another class with him.
