To begin your private tour to the Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri, you will be collected from your hotel at 6am to travel to Agra by road, 124 miles (204 kilometers) from Delhi and home to the sublimely beautiful Taj Mahal.

The World Heritage-listed Taj Mahal was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century, during a golden era of art and architecture in India. The world's most extravagant monument built for love was constructed as a tomb for Shah Jahan's beloved wife, Mumtaz Muhal, who died giving birth to their 14th child. Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1631 and was not completed until 1653. You will be amazed by the intricate carvings and designs that have withstood the test of time, and be intrigued as you hear the stories of love and tragedy.

After lunch at a restaurant of your choice (at your own expense), you will visit Agra Fort, the Halls of Public and Private Audience and the Tomb of Itmad-ud Daullah.

On your return trip to Delhi, visit Fatehpur Sikri, 24 miles (40 kilometers) from Agra. This magnificent ghost city was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and became the capital of Mughal India for 15 years before it was abandoned due to sarcity of water.Your guide will show you all the points of interest including Jama Masjid, the 54-meter-high Victory Gate (Buland Darwaza), the white marble tomb of Shikh Salim Chrishti as well as many palaces and pavilions that blend elements of Hindu, Islamic and Persian architecture.

Return to your hotel in Delhi by road.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The length of the trip can vary depending on the unpredictable traffic, so please be prepared for a long day.

Valuable excursion. Lasts about 16 hours and quite long drives. Comfortable small car, driver and guide OK. The rate for this excursion is too expensive. It's easy to organize the same trip from Delhi within an hour through government tourist office at less 40 percent.

Was a wonderful all day tour seeing the Taj Mahal was the best part of it. Although the driver was a little late for the early morning start. Would definitely recommend it. The tour guide was very knowledgable.

Wonderful tour. Managed to see 3 Unesco sites Taj Mahal ,Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri as we wished.Could have been better if we have stayed at Agra for one night. Thanks to Viator for arranging such a great tour.

A must do for everyone visiting the area. The red fort was also very impressive. Never had a chance to see the Fatehpur Sikri though - apparently very few do because the day is already long enough.

The driver and the guide were very professional. The delivered exactly what the website promised. I would use them again in the future.

The driver was fantastic and it was a nice clean vehicle. It would have been fantastic, except for the guide we met in Agra led an elaborate scam to sell us marble-inlayed stone. It was very off-putting to be dragged about Agra to a 'special store' only to be flat-out lied to and manipulated by a unscrupulous polished marble dealer. Very strange. Very insulting. Its almost something you can't get around in India. But when you pay this much for a tour, this should not happen. This is certainly the high end on pricing.

The journey started almosr an hour late because the the driver had some late night trip. It takes 4 hour travel to Agra. Due to inproper planning we have to skip Fatehpur sikri trio. Our understanding is that it require one and half hour journey from Agra and Agra to Delhi another 5 and half hour jorney.

I have used Viator in Jordan, China, etc and I have to say this was my most disappointing tour. The driver was rude and reckless. Talking on his phone the entire drive, and making no effort to talk to us. The guide at the Taj was informative and nice. Spent 10+ hours driving and didn't even get to see anything besides the Taj and briefly Agra Fort. Fatehpur Sikri is 40km away and I feel advertising it as part of the tour is misleading (It takes hours to go even 50km near Agra). My guide said maybe 1:10 tours has enough time to make it there. Yet, we still had time to be taken to tourist shops and forced to listen to a sales pitch. No effort was made to partially refund us, or rectify the fact that this tour was completely infeasible to do. There are much better ways to make it to the Taj Mahal (i.e. train) and plenty of tour guides there. Save your money, and book elsewhere.
