Know More about this tour

You will be picked up from your accommodation by your driver in the early morning for the drive to your first stop, Batuan Temple, where you'll arrive in about one hour.

This Hindu temple is looked after by the villagers of the Batuan countryside and features Balinese ornamentation with a roof made from the fiber of chromatic black palm trees. Then visit Tegenungan Waterfall, one of the few waterfalls in Bali that isn’t situated in the highlands or mountains. It's only about 50 feet high (15 meters), so you can jump right into the waterfall, if you wish (only after paying for insurance). Tegenungan is known for its lush green surroundings and heavy water flow, perfect for swimming and cooling off.

Next, head to the Tegalalang Rice Fields near Ubud, where subak (a traditional Balinese cooperative irrigation system) is practiced. According to local history, subak was passed down by a revered holy man named Rsi Markandeya in the eighth century. Admire the view from here that spreads out to the rice terraces on the slopes across the valley.

After this, proceed to a coffee, cocoa, and tea plantation in Ubud, where Luwak coffee is made from the beans of coffee berries that have been eaten by the Asian palm civet, a cat-like animal, and passed through its digestive tract, where fermentation occurs. After the civet excretes the berries, they are collected by farmers from the forest floor for cleaning, roasting, and grinding, just like any other coffee. You will be shown the process of making this coffee. Enjoy a tasting of the plantation's coffee, tea, and cocoa drinks (except for the Luwak, which you can purchase).

Continue your day trip to the Ubud art villages to learn about the fine arts produced here. Balinese art and crafts have been classified into several groups and styles in Ubud. Mas focuses on the art of wood carving; Celuk is the place to see patient Balinese artists make silver jewelry; and Tohpati is known as the center of batik weaving.

Your day trip ends with return to your hotel for drop-off in the evening.

  • Rice Fields especially nice. Waterfall was the highlight, just amazing. Friendly and fun driver. An excellent day.

  • Very good tour covering some of the best bits of Ubud and the surrounding areas. Private tour in comfortable air conditioned car and the driver was polite, courteous and very helpful filling in the gaps. His English was good and certainly better than my Balinese! Good value would recommend.

  • Excellent service, pick up on time, very knowledgable guide, recommend!!

  • This tour was awesome and our driver Oka was awesome too. He took us to all the places we wanted to go and gave us lots of time to explore. He even spent extra time with us to take us to local spots to eat. We would highly recommend this tour and asking for Oka as your tour driver.

  • What a great day. Our Tour guide, Putra was so polite and helpful he even helped with our baby.
The waterfall was amazing but can be dangerous, we witnessed a near drowning by people who could not swim.
Wood carving and jewellery making really stood out and showcased their skill.
Worth doing and good value for money.

  • I loved this tour and our guide was very informative. It was pouring rain so we couldn and #39;t see Mt. Batur very well but the restaurant we ate at there had a nice view. We still had to pay for entrance into the monkey forrest, rice terrace and the road to Mt. Batur so make sure you bring enough cash with u.

  • The driver Agung was very helpful, he accompanied us whereever we go, so he can take picture for us, also he is a great tour guide, very patiently explain the history of the place we visited. He also extended the tour so we can watch the dance show in royal palace in late evening. I highly recommend him for your tour guide.

  • Our guide Madeles was professional, on time, took great photos for us, and overall the tour was a good comprehensive view of must sees in Bali.

I personally loved the door to door service and the fact that it was a private tour was nice as we were able to tailor the day slightly to our own preferenes.

We added on the monkey foreast at our own expense which was a highlight for us in comparison to the other activities in the tour. The temple was beautiful, although I would have loved to see another temple. Also the waterfall, while very beautiful was quite dirty to swim in due to the rainy season. It was our choice to not swim in it however as other people sure did! The art village was beautiful however I would recommend to skip the silver/gold village section depending on one's personal preference.

I would have liked to see another temple I would also recommend adding in the mokey forest to the overall pacakge since that was a highlight for us. Also I would have liked if the local tour company emailed me to confirm the details. Since we did not have a local like many other viator tours, I would have liked to receive a confirmation from the local company for my own peace of mind of the tour.

overall the guide and tour was great, the personal service was awesome!

  • Friendly inexperience driver with problem speaking English. Not much knowledge of Bali's history. Car was ok but too hot in the car as AC was not powerful enough to react to tempreture outside. Driver complaint about hot weather most of the time.
Please not company managed to change our pick up time at short notice. Only managed three places in 5 hours as it was very congested on road.

  • If you want to feel the pulse of Bali in one day, then this is the tour for you! Our tour guide Dodie was such a pleasant person that before the tour was over, our 6-year old granddaughter was letting him hold her hand on the way to the sights - the rice terraces, the waterfalls, the temple grounds and the art villages!
