We will come to collect you at approximately 09H00 from your hotel or guest house or any other address provided by you around Cape town, and we will start the tour with a drive by short City Orientation Tour including the Colourful Houses in the Bo-Kaap
Stop At: Bo-kaap, Cape Town Central, Western Cape
Our first stop will be here for a photo opportunity in this historical Cape Town colourful suburb.Situated at the foot of Signal Hill, on the fringe of the city centre, and formerly known as the Malay Quarter, the Bo-Kaaps origins date back to the 1760s when numerous huurhuisjes (rental houses) were built and leased to slaves. These people were known as Cape Malays, and were brought from Malaysia, Indonesia and the rest of Africa to work in the Cape.
To this day, the houses are a mix of Cape Dutch and Georgian architecture, in distinctive multi-coloured rows on steeply cobbled roads. The choice of colour is said to be attributed to the fact that while on lease, all the houses had to be white. When this rule was eventually lifted, and the slaves were allowed to buy the properties, all the houses were painted bright colours by their owners as an expression of their freedom.
Many of the families in the Bo-Kaap have been living there for generations. Today the Bo-Kaap community is a significant part of our cultural heritage. The oldest building in the Bo-Kaap is in Wale Street and currently houses the Bo-Kaap Museum. This is the best place to discover the real history of the area and to get a glimpse into the life of a typical Malay family.
The first established Muslim mosque in South Africa, the Auwal Mosque, can also be found in the Bo-Kaap.

We were very excited to see the penguins and the Cape of Good Hope and booked this day trip to see as much as possible. Our friendly driver Richard picked us up at our hotel. He was so friendly and welcoming at the meeting. He asked us at the beginning what we would like to see and suggested some points he recommends us to include. We were very happy about that and extremely satisfied with it. Because this way the day became a perfectly coordinated tour, which even took into consideration the evening sun on the twelve apostles. He was very knowledgeable and always gave us tips on what we should pay attention to in the individual points/attractions. For example, where we could have the best chance to meet the penguins. Also his recommendation for lunch was great. We learned and saw so much, Richard was exactly what we had hoped for on this tour! This tour is great and perfect to see and experience a lot in one day.
Great tour, Remmy made it a day to remember, sharing his knowledge and great spirit - highly recommend!
The trip was great, makes for a long day and lots of places to see. Our guide was very informative about the entire coastline. He allowed us to work with a little of flexibility. The entrance fees once we arrived at locations made the visit shorter because of waiting in lines. I would be great to pay for those options online ahead of time. In whole, a great tour!!
Excellent Tour, so Glad we took it. Amazing Guide Remy he was very attentive to us and covered more than expected.
Great day out saw so many things
Our guide Walter was informative and friendly
Would highly recommend this tour great way to see the country
This was an amazing tour that allowed us to see the beauty of Cape Town. Our tour guide Yoyo was excellent and very knowledgeable about the history and landmarks. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversations and meals with him and my wife and him convinced me to try the ostrich for lunch, which was a great meal. Not only was he a great tour guide, but he was also a great photographer. He allowed my wife and I to capture great memories that we can also go back and reflect on. We ended our day at a beautiful vineyard, where we ate cheese, bread and did a wine tasting. This was one of our most memorable tours and I recommend the tour and guide (Yoyo) to anyone that comes to Cape Town.
We had a great driver and tour guide! Tour guide provided a lot of interesting information throughout the drive and we were able to see most of what we hoped we would see. The driver also volunteered to take pictures of us, which was certainly appreciated! While I knew ahead of time that the additional sights were not included in the tour cost, after doing the tour, it feels overpriced for what you are getting, which is why I am only giving four stars.
The price should be by car as opposed to by person, as you are getting the same level of service and inclusions whether one or three people. One could do this easily without a tour guide, but at the end of the day, it’s your preference if you wish to drive yourself. If you don’t want to drive, then it is a great option. While it is a private tour, I felt rushed while we were at the sights we chose to see. I opted for a private tour because I wanted to freely spend time without feeling rushed. We really did have a great experience but one last item of note was that our driver did not realize that there is routine and scheduled maintenance on the Chapmans Peak drive during Feb and March and we had to last minute change our plans based on this oversight, which may have lead to less time at locations we opted to see.
Wonderful day - good value for the money - our guide Felix was amazing - you should request him - learned so much and was a fun adventure
Our tour guide, David, was friendly and informative. The tour began with an overview of the CBD, driving through areas of CapeTown while our guide provided us with historical information about the city. We then took a scenic coastal drive to Hout Bay where we boarded a ferry to view the seals and further drove along the Atlantic coast to Cape Point and Cape Hope. A relaxing lunch was followed by a stroll to Boulders Beach to see the adorable African Penguins. A comfortable drive throughout and a nice way to spend a day in and around CapeTown.
The tour itself was out of this world. We were at the cape of good hope, the lowest part of South Africa, unbelievable. tHE PUINGUINS park was very nice to see, we were so close to them. The guide was a bit inexperienced with people….. He knew his history, full of facts and information but he was quizzing us in joking but if we did not give him the right answer he was saying ….. you did not listen to what I said.. i am joking….. We are not children being tested. We enjoyed everything he told us but we can't remember everything that is being said and enjoy the view of where we are. e did not appreciate that part. I RECOMMEND THIS TOUR.
