Know More about this tour

The Dingle peninsula gets is name from the largest town on the peninsula. The peninsula is often called Corca Dhuibhne, even by English speaking people. It means "tribe of Duibhne". On the peninsula there are two mountain ranges: the Slieve Mish Mountains in the east, and another range of mountains in the west that has no name. Mount Brandon is the tallest mountain in Ireland after the peeks of the MacgillyCuddy Reeks outside Killarney.

The Connor pass is an absolute highlight that cannot be missed. It starts just outside the town of Dingle and ends on the other side of the peninsula near the village Castlegregory. It is Ireland's highest mountain pass. It is a narrow, twisting road surrounded by sharp drops and lakes. As such, coaches are prohibited from driving this road.

Just off the very westernmost point on the peninsula you will find the Blasket Islands. Until the 1950s these islands were inhabited and from Dunquin, on the mainland, you can still see the remains of the main village on the Great Blasket island. Many of the old inhabitants became famous writers and poets and the Blasket Centre has a fascinating exhibition on the literary heritage of the islands.

A large part of the peninsula is designated as a so called "Gaeltacht". This means the Irish language is the primary language spoken here. Road signs, for example, are all in Irish language.

The tour includes all the important highlights on the Dingle peninsula such as the Connor pass, Ferriter's Cove, Gallarus Oratory and the Blasket Centre. We will pass many colorful villages such as Dingle, Castlegregory, Dunquin and Annascaul. Your guide can point you to excellent restaurants and bars in these places to stop for a tasty lunch, Irish pint of plain, or coffee.

Peter was an excellent guide. We hired him for 2 days. Dingle peninsula and ring of kerry. He is knowledgable, friendly, helpful, reliable and willing to go the extra distance. We would highly recommend him!

Peter was fantastic! Communicated with me the day before the tour to set up pick up. Showed up early and so friendly. We really didn’t know everything we wanted to see- he asked great questions to help us plan out our day that worked for us. Took us to all the best places, took pictures for us. Was so friendly and willing to do whatever to ensure we had an amazing day! I would whole heartedly recommend anyone booking with Peter- I am so thankful I found him!

What an amazing trip! My friend and I were able to see so much in one day and yet it never felt rushed. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, stopping at last-minute locations like cliff-side beaches at our request. We were very lucky, with incredible weather and views the whole day. If you don’t have a car or don’t want to risk driving the narrow roads along the ocean, this tour is a must for seeing a stunning part of Ireland.

This tour will get you around the Dingle area where there is plenty to see. Pitor was an amazing guide and willing to adjust the tour to your request, and he does a great job noticing what your interest is and makes great additional suggestions as recommendations for the tour.

Our driver arrived on time and he was very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. We couldn’t be more pleased . We left something in the vehicle and he was so kind to bring it to us at the train station next morning. Thank you so much, Peter, for going out of your way!

Leave the driving to the professionals especially during the peak season of July and August. We booked a day tour to the Dingle Peninsula with South Kerry Taxi. Our driver, Tony O'Brien, picked us up at our hotel in the morning in a new sedan and off we went to explore Dingle. The weather cooperated and Tony stopped at all the most picturesque sites. We walked the beaches, and the downtown area, ate lunch and continued on around the peninsula. It was a day to enjoy nature and soak in the beauty of the area. Tony certainly knew the area well and was an expert driver especially when sharing the road with numerous coaches and bicycles. Leaving the driving to the professionals allowed us to enjoy a stress free day in Ireland!

We booked three days- a 1/2 day tour of Dingle, full day of Ring of Kerry, and transport to Galway via Cliffs of Moher and Bunratty Castle. This was an ideal choice for us and we did not pay more than the bus tour of Ireland we had looked at originally. Peter was a terrific guide. He’s lived many years in Ireland and has a wealth of knowledge. He was punctual, very polite and friendly and fun to travel with. He is able to create a day that works for you individually. I recommend highly!

Mary G. was an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable about the Killarney and DIngle areas where we went. She provided a wealth of historical, cultural, linguistic and geological information. She tailored her tour based on our needs and didn’t rush us to get back on the road to see the next site. Taking a tour with Mary by car afforded us the opportunity to see things a bus tour wouldn’t be able to take us to. Mary is fluent in several languages so she would be a great choice to serve as your guide.

My husband and I booked a private tour to the Dingle peninsula. It was worth every penny. Piotr was knowledgeable of the area. He thoughtful in finding the best places to bring us. He even found the pub we wanted to go to. We loved the freedom we had of a private tour as well after spending 3 days on bus tours. So glad we booked the tour.
