So viel historischer Stoff an einem Vormittag kann einen ja durchaus überfordern. Aber unser Guide war hervorragend vorbereitet, und führte uns sicher durch die etwas unübersichtliche Sammlung zu den bemerkenswertesten Stücken der ägyptischen Geschichte. Nebenbei bemerkt spricht Amira hervorragend Deutsch, eine Fähigkeit, die man nur bei wenigen Guides vorfindet. Bei allem Eifer ließ sie uns das Museum aber in unserem eigenen Tempo erkunden und ging jederzeit auf unsere Wünsche ein. Mit dem Neubau in Gizeh soll all das dann noch mal eindrucksvoller werden, wovon wir uns bestimmt selbst noch einmal überzeugen werden. Gerne übrigens wieder mit Amira!

Poor service by the guide assigned to us. Our guide was not interesting on showing us anything. He was on such a rush and we fell like he made us run thru the museum. We spend less than 2 hrs inside the museum.

The Egyptian Museum is so full of antiquities that navigating it alone would deprive you of the full experience. In many instances, the signs are very small, not fully informative and often not accessible due to other patrons. Having a guide to fully explain the significance of each piece was critical to our full appreciation and enjoyment of the museum. Highly recommend.
