Know More about this tour

This tour is a must if you are a first timer in Iceland. First we will pick you up from your hotel or apartment in central Reykjavik at the time that suits you and we'll start the tour by visiting ingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park. It is here at Thingvellir where the tectonic plates between America and Europe meet, and the location of the old viking parliament that gathered for about 2 weeks every year in old times. Enjoy the feeling of standing on two continents in one day and see the rift between the two tectonic plates!

Next we will see Geysir (Gayser), one of Iceland's best known natural wonders and the geysir that gave its name to all of the others. See the hot water and steam bursting from the ground at this magnificent geological site.

The third stop will be the mighty Gullfoss waterfall: standing at 32 meters high and with the summer time water flow being around 140.000 Liters per second / 36.984 US Gallons per second, this makes for an impressive site. You will definitely get a sense of the water's power from the viewing points as you see the and feel the spray of the cold water.

Along the way our guides might add in some extra stops (e.g. Keri crater, Faxi waterfall) all based on your interests and time frame (all entrance fees are at own expense). Just talk to your guide on the day about what's possible. As this is a fully private tour, you can influence the pace of the tour, allowing you to spend more time at the sites that really interest you.

  • Took so long to get to where we were going with a large tour group. Would definitely do a private tour next time.

  • I can't say enough good things about this tour. We were taken all over Iceland, the guide went out of his way to accommodate us and we even ended up having some of the best tomato soup I have ever eaten. I would recommend this tour and this company to anyone who wants to do Iceland's golden circle.

  • Our private tour began with Walter Unnarsson picking us up at 9:00am at our hotel. His van was clean, roomy,
he offered us each a water, and we proceeded to Thingvellir National Park. It is spectacular and worth seeing!
Walter was very friendly, informative, and very interested in making our trip as pleasant as possible. We stopped at
a local dairy farm for ice cream. Walter treated us all! We then drove to the Gulfoss waterfall. Very beautiful. The
countryside is very similar to Hawaii. Our next stop was the Geysir. Not as spectacular as Yellowstone, but still a
tourist attraction. They have a nice restaurant and shop there. We then went back to the dairy farm and ate lunch.
I think the name is Eludisair. The food was very good and Walter waited for us in his van while we ate. Our next stop was
the Faxi waterfall and then the Kerio crater. We did have to pay to enter the crater. We asked Walter to make a special trip
to Viking World. Since it was about an hour away we were charged an additional 150 US dollars to make the trip. We traveled along volcanic rock scenery on the west side of the island. The museum at Viking World was very disappointing. I expected to see a small village, costumes, etc. There is an original Viking ship in the museum has been rebuilt. Pretty amazing! Walter surprised us again and bought Fermented shark for us to try. It is called Hakarl. Both my boys and I tried it. The smell is horrible! The shark has a mild smoky flavor. The local Icelandic people love it! Walter was so thoughtful and made our trip so memorable. I would definitely recommend that you request him on a private tour. 354-778-4800
This trip costs 900 US. Definitely a highlight!

  • We enjoyed the sights that we saw on this trip, but our tour guide was not very good. He was extremely pleasant and showed up on time, but his English was poor so communication was difficult. We missed one of the possible highlights on this private tour because he said he had offered it to us but we did not hear or understand him. Also, the itinerary said we would eat at a greenhouse, but he tried to take us to the cafeteria at one of the attractions. When we asked about the greenhouse, he ended up taking us to an amazing dairy farm where we had fresh food and ice cream, so it worked out fine. He wasn't very informative as our other guides on other tours were, I believe because of his lack of English skill. He also brought his girlfriend with him on the tour, but she was not an assistant, just along for the ride which we thought was very odd.

  • This tour was amazing! We hit a few weather obstacles but our guide was extremely flexible and accommodating and we had an awesome day exploring the golden circle with other stops in between. If you have a small group this is so worth it over the big group bus tours and our guide Einar was great!

  • Excellent decision to take this tour. Einar turned up in a very nice, very clean car and was knowledgeable and polite. We really enjoyed the ability to talk one on one with a guide, which you dont get with larger tours. he took us to a lovely farm/cafe for lunch. Highly recommmend
