Know More about this tour

Meet your guide in Krakow old town, and begin your walking tour with an introduction to the citys Jewish history.

As you stroll from the pretty Old Town to the Jewish district of Podgrze, hear about the area during the days of the Holocaust. Visit a memorial dedicated to the European Jews who were persecuted at the hands of Nazis, and discover how heroes like Oskar Schindler risked their lives to protect others.

From Podgrze, continue along the banks of the Vistula River to Kazimierz, which was once home to some 65,000 Jews. Visit Tempel synagogue, where the prewar wealth of the area is evident, and then head inside the small but beautiful Remuh synagogue, which remains an active place of worship today.

Take a break to recharge with coffee and a traditional Polish dessert, and then resume with a visit around the Old Jewish Cemetery. Continue to other must-see spots around Kazimierz such as the Old Synagogue and Isaacs Synagogue, plus various kosher shops and cultural centers.

Your tour then ends back at the starting point.

Excruciating was how one of our friends described this tour with Lucas our guide. 4 of us
Lucas is passionate, asked us what we were wanting out of this tour and gave us little of what we asked. He has a passionate interest in rulers and synagogues
We walked a great distance and stopped at a lot of religious places with long explanations in English that was basicoften having trouble finding the right word- which we would then help him with. It was a hot sunny day and all stops for information bar 2 in the sun, by the end of the day I was quite sun burnt. Lucas had not bought any water to drink with him so we supplied him with some water.
He said that we could go inside the synagogues and in particular the Jewish cemetery, but there would be a fee for us to pay.
The inclusions included public transport if needed. We needed to take to get back to the square at the end of the tour due to another commitment. We all got on the tram and Lucas showed us how to buy our ticket....??? then he said that he did not have enough money on him so we subsidized his tram ticket.
Furthermore, as stated in the inclusions for the trip was coffee and Polish dessert well that never happened and obviously Lucas had no money.
Personally we all thought a refund from the company is in order. Viator... this may be a great tour but the local operator needs to vet the tour guides a lot better.
If you are looking at this tour it could be great but not for us.
For the money paid...not with this tour guide.

Matt was fantastic! Working on his Phd and a wealth of knowledge. Imcould,go into, much detail but I won't. I can say I,would, have enjoyed any of his tours and the, knowledge he has. If I ever return to Krakow I would want to take his tours and I would, certainly recommend Matt to any of my family and friends.
