Know More about this tour

Begin with early morning pickup at your Singapore hotel, Singapore airport, or cruise port depending on your wishes.

Then, relax into the leather seats of your private, air-conditioned vehicle and enjoy the 3-hour drive to Malacca - the UNESCO-listed Malaysian state that was once the country’s busiest trading port. Use the onboard WiFi if you wish, and on arrival, enjoy a delicious local Chinese breakfast of Roti Bakar (toast topped with coconut jam), half-boiled eggs, and coffee. Absorb the historical atmosphere and learn about the city's Dutch, Portuguese, and British colonial heritage as you take in historical St. Paul’s Church on St Paul’s Hill, St. Francis Xavier statue, the Porta De Santiago fort, and 18th-century Christ Church.

See the Chinese Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, and peruse the stalls and red-brick houses during a stroll along Jonker Street. Stop to sample some famous local pineapple tarts and coconut-milk cendol dessert, and enjoy a 45-minute cruise along the Malacca River, passing quaint colonial houses, temples, and churches.

Make the scenic journey to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital. Refuel with a sumptuous local Indian lunch of Thosai (savoury pancake with sides), before heading to the famous Batu Caves on the edges of Kuala Lumpur. View the Hindu shrines contained within these sacred caves, and then continue into the city to the Petronas Twin Towers. Visit the observation deck of these world-famous towers for bird’s-eye city views, and admire five other must-sees of the National Palace, Sultan Abdul Samad (former supreme court and government offices of the British colonial administration), National Monument, National Mosque, and Independence Square.

Finally, savor a tasty local Malay dinner of Nasi Goreng Ayam (fried rice with chicken) before returning to Singapore, where your tour finishes with a hotel, port, or airport drop-off at about 9pm, depending on traffic.

Please note: in the event that the Petronas Twin Tower's observation deck is closed (ie: Muslim festivals, Mondays etc), guests will have an outdoor photo stop of the Petronas Twin Towers, and visit the KL Tower's observation deck instead.

In addition, if you are interested in staying overnight in Kuala Lumpur and exploring it independently before a next-day return to Singapore by coach, (all at additional cost), please advise at time of booking.

  • We really had a great time. Edison was our guide. He picked us up promptly at 4:30am. Our vehicle was very comfortable. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Singapore and Malaysia and gave useful facts at all our stops. We stopped at all stops as advertised, but in reverse order so as to avoid severe traffic rush hour in Kuala Lumpur. My wife is vegetarian, so our guide made a point to stop at restaurants to accommodate her. We kepp to schedule very efficiently so as to return to our Singapore hotel at about 9:00pm. As with all our previous Viator tours, this one was great!!

  • We had an amazing day trip to Malaysia, we were very limited for time so this was the only glimpse of Malaysia we could fit in. Our driver and guide Edison was wonderful. He had a great knowledge of Malaysia and made Melacca and Kuala Lumpur very interesting for us. We got to taste many of the local delicacies in both cities. We had a nice amount of time at all the places we visited. We especially enjoyed the river cruise at Melacca and Twin Towers and Batu Caves at Kuala Lumpur. Thank you Edison, we really enjoyed spending the day with you!

  • If you have only one day to sample Malaysia this is it.
Edison the tour guide and driver was superb. He show the major sights of Malacca, the Batu caves and Kuala Lumpur lets you sample many local dishes and makes the long drive pass quickly with his fascinating insights into local history, culture and local customs.
The tour was expensive, but given how much is packed into a very long day 4.30 am to 10pm. I felt it was good value given how much I learnt about the country.

  • This tour was a great experience! I thought it would be so rushed and superficial as this was just a day trip from SG to KL. It was educational, reasonable time to see the sights and the long drive back and forth to SG was comfortable. I think this was made possible by our guide Edison. He was so knowledgeable/ polite/ accommodating and has a warm persona that made the experience a delight!. For those who are strapped for time but want to experience Malaysia, I highly recommend this!

  • Edison was a pleasant tour guide. Very knowledgeable and flexible with our itinerary. He kept our tour fun and interesting. Definitely one of the highlights on our trips. Highly recommended.

  • Our tour guide, Edison was so terrific! Highly recommend this tour if you don't mind a long day. We were visiting Singapore for 5 days and decided to take a detour to Malaysia for this tour. We had so much fun!!! The sights were great and so was the food! Edison told us all about the country and the cities we visited. This is a trip we will always remember fondly!
