Luoyang is located in the center of China as an important cradle of Chinese civilization. As one of the six ancient capitals, the world famous attractions in Luoyang includes Longmen Grottoes and Shaolin Temple. The Longmen Grottoes has the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art from the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (316-907). Visiting the grottoes was good but the Shaolin was a bit let down. Too commercial, felt like disneyland. The tour guide was good as she introduced us to a local restaurant for lunch.
